Friendly no doubt, but def left seat mind set, far from how the military does it these days. UAL may have introduced CRM, but I honestly think the mil guys have fewer egos nowdays. Don't believe me, ask to taxi and do the left seat stuff when it's your turn to fly.
So following Vol. I & II makes the captain left seat mind set big ego ass?

Wow, chill out fellas! We have a lot of new pilots on the list. The Captains at F9 are not prudes, they just don't fly with the same FOs very often; in those cases it is especially wise to fly by the book. Stick around for a bit and you'll probably find you can gain trust with this group, and if not you'll be the Captain soon anyway. It's all good...

The fact that you admit to asking captains to violate the SOPs reveals that the CRM/ego problem is you. Whether you don't know the rules or know them and believe they don't apply to you, your request to taxi raises a major red flag regarding your judgment.

Are you seriously pretending that F9 captains operate by strict adherence to the SOPs? Seriously? Lol

I do have a lot of time on my hands especially trying to explain things to DB'S like you! Why dont you send me a PM and tell me who you are not hide behind carolinaflyer. That would be beneficial. I am narrowing you down to CLT commuter. To say that I was insinuating you have to be a NASA pilot was idiotic at best when the previous post I said "a Monkey can fly the Airbus." I would love to school you. PM me. Don't be shy!

Get over Your Ego.

Just cause every CA out there don't let you taxi out,do Their flows, calls, etc, ect; doesn't mean they got EGO. It means they are Following the FOM, and performing their duties according to company & FAA policy.

Why don't you ask to do that the next time you fly with a Check Airman?
I'm sure they will hook you up.

Welcome to FRONTIER.
Cloud warrior,

You have just emphasized my point with your reply. My opinion had nothing to do with wanting to taxi the airplane, the questions was about ego's and CRM. I have no ego. UAL may have started CRM, but flying both sides of the equation I can attest that the military has it better, the airlines are still stuck in the old ranking structure.

While flying military contracting, I was very blessed to fly with some amazing former military aviators, we also flew per military rules. The point is that there was very little ego or ranking that went on. We worked together as crew always, there was no such thing as "CA typed / Left seat assigned / bid / Awarded a Left seat line, Pay, & schedule?" Whomever flew sat on left seat and did all the left seat duties and vice versa. Both crews were equally qualified on either station and duty, regardless who was the assigned PIC. PIC sign off was awarded with experience, not a number. a number means absolutely nothing regarding ability. In my opinion makes for a more capable crew.

LMAO. I have flown with some captains do the walk around and set the box when it is either their turn to fly or be a PM. I appreciate that as it keeps their skills sharp.
