Friendly no doubt, but def left seat mind set, far from how the military does it these days. UAL may have introduced CRM, but I honestly think the mil guys have fewer egos nowdays. REALLY.?? (I do agree about those tools with min time as fo's & who are just plain DB; but really - to lump the Entire CA rank in that clueless & lucky group is pathetic).

May I ask if you are CA typed / Left seat assigned / bid / Awarded a Left seat line, Pay, & schedule?
Get over Your Ego.

Just cause every CA out there don't let you taxi out,do Their flows, calls, etc, ect; doesn't mean they got EGO. It means they are Following the FOM, and performing their duties according to company & FAA policy.

Why don't you ask to do that the next time you fly with a Check Airman?
I'm sure they will hook you up.

Welcome to FRONTIER.

Frontier still has the same number of airframes they did when they started hiring 2 years ago... Or it's close... They're still hiring for utilization so they haven't even begun to hire "the future captains"

Dude, I have not been a captain for more than two years and I could not do the FO flow to save my life. Let alone figure out the ramp, metering and ground freqs. That's why I don't let you taxi.

Pretty sure CRM was introduced at UAL back in the early 80's.
Sounds like you are referring to the military's use of human factors boards which hasn't reached airline use yet as far as I've been familiar with.
Hope you enjoy your career at Frontier, and maybe you can be the one to show the other Frontier pilots that it's OK to have prior military in your ranks.
No problem I have no issues with being corrected, and I appreciate the dialogue. That being said we are both wrong in a sense. NASA actually did the initial studies with the FAA then adopting a regulatory platform and finally UAL doing the first formal training. So all in all I was still wrong but now everyone has more useless information with which to kick useful penguins off the iceberg.

Wow, chill out fellas! We have a lot of new pilots on the list. The Captains at F9 are not prudes, they just don't fly with the same FOs very often; in those cases it is especially wise to fly by the book. Stick around for a bit and you'll probably find you can gain trust with this group, and if not you'll be the Captain soon anyway. It's all good...

The fact that you admit to asking captains to violate the SOPs reveals that the CRM/ego problem is you. Whether you don't know the rules or know them and believe they don't apply to you, your request to taxi raises a major red flag regarding your judgment.

Are you seriously pretending that F9 captains operate by strict adherence to the SOPs? Seriously? Lol
