Time will tell.
If we play our cards right, it will give us some leverage in negotiations come March 2016. Until then it's buyer beware. F9 NEEDS pilots and pilots now have options. Frontier Airlines takes delivery of first A321ceo | Airframes content from ATWOnline

I hope the supply / demand curve pushes pilots to the Legacies (I'd be finding my way to AMR right now if I were 30ish), and away from the low paying hopeful Frontier (ever try buying a house with hope?). There was a pilot in the September class who already had a UAL class date when he showed up for training at F9. That's what sub-par pay and high minimums buy in terms of loyalty. That also explains why the talk about training contracts keeps circulating. Our management ALWAYS goes for the stick before the carrot.

Don't come here with the expectation that the pay rates, management / employee relationship or contract will change. Only come here if you are OK with the status quo, because that's what it's gonna be until it's not - and who knows when that'll be.

Please heed what F9Driver is saying.

He is being more polite than I can manage. Employee relations are pretty much in the toilet. The only reason this place isn't in full meltdown mode is that we have a high percentage of new hire folks who are still in the honeymoon stages of butterflies and rainbows.

We have become the place where people come in spite of the poor working environment because there's a chance of a quick upgrade. The only reason anybody stays long term is that they can't move on for one reason or another. Some just consider themselves too old to start over and some have skeletons that make them less likely to be picked up by a more desirable carrier.

Working alongside (or being) someone who's trapped in the job only enhances the negative experience of being here.

I spoke with one of our union guys recently who told me we have somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 grievances pending. That's right around 1 grievance for every 3 pilots. The union rep mentioned one of the big legacy carriers and said they have something like 9 grievances pending. 9 grievances for 10,000-ish pilots versus 300 for 950. That's a pretty telling ratio. Fly it and grieve it is a daily chant from the Company and our Chief Pilot's office.

Really folks... Don't make the same mistake I've made and wake up one day to realize it's too late to do anything about it. Have more sense than I did and wait for something better. Really.

Default Reserve lines

What do reserve lines look like at F9? I think I heard a short call and a long call? What times do they start and can you get released early on your last day or will you generally get used?

Default Crashpad ?

What is the crashpad situation in in DEN? Are guys at F9 getting crashpads or using a local hotel at a discount rate?

Are there lines that are commutable on both ends or favor an AM or PM commute and don't need local accommodations for commuters?

What about any RV parking? I remember someone saying there is a Walmart that is commuter Mecca near the airport.

There are many reserve lines. Long call (12hrs) Medium call (10hrs) short call (2hrs). Short call has 5 different time spreads that cover the day, can't remember the start times for the early ones but I know reserve C starts at noon, D starts at 5 and E starts at 7. You can get released early and have been told they do sometimes, depends of course. If you don't want to fly you can just sit and wait for a call and they probably won't use you, but each reserve period gets used a little different. Early morning guys I think get used more. You can go on the want to fly list and have a better chance to fly and you can also reserve aggressive pick up if there is a trip in opentime.

People use both crashpad and the hotels during training. There is not a crashpad close enough to walk so you will need a car or a classmate with a car for training. After training there are plenty of crashpads that have transportation to the airport.

Commutable lines, I am not sure about that yet but i do know that there are people in the crashpad that tend to leave the pad once they get a line. So I would say yes.

RV parking, havn't heard that one but could work.

No RV Parking at the airport anymore.

Closest RV Park would be off of E Colfax which I wouldn't recommend.

Isn't there a pretty nice RV park around Barr Lake in Brighton? 15 ish miles from DIA I think.
