Being a commuter is a choice ... Observation flights are a requirement

Default Positive space JS?

BS, it's my jumpseat, the FARS allowing it should read by the new guys AND the training department. Commuters first and always. Show some respect, some new hire shows up with even a whiff of attitude like that uttered by some posters here and buh-bye!....the CPO CAN BE-LOW me. It's a simple as that....welcome to F9.

Things with the positive space ride are getting blown out of proportion now. Plain and simple, no positive space between our two hubs (ORD,MCO) and DEN. That is all! Captain denies a positive space ride then he will have some explaining to do to Chief pilot.
Time to give it a rest everybody!

I agree with you completely. Be careful though, if you mention anything about first year pay to many of our senior CA, they'll promptly tell you how they took pay cuts so you could have a job and how they've been making next to nothing for years. This will be followed by discussions of their boats/airplanes/2 houses and of course, the massive IPO payout they're expecting. You may also get a lecture about paying your dues as an FO, despite the fact they upgraded in 6-12 months.

Let's not forget the guys that go out of their way to remind folks not to gloat (and nobody does) about only sitting reserve for two months or upgrading in two years. Right. Your 8 year stint being a junior FO at Frontier was really tragic. Surely Frontier was the only airline stagnating/failing during the recession, right? Surely the person you're lecturing wasn't stuck at a crappy regional, 135, or worse making peanuts that entire time. If you were lucky enough to ride out the recession at Frontier making a livable wage then you are the fortunate one. Have a little respect and mind your own business. This isn't the era of Great Lakes where mommy and daddy subsidized your career for 2-3 years until F9 hired you. Most of the newhires I know have a decade+ experience.

HA!

Most of our Captains were all cozy and snug in their Denver base as line holders while the rest of us schlepped our way to Milwaukee and then Chicago as reserves for years at a time. This stems from the senior FAPA leadership at the time, they never cared about the junior pilot at F9. I'm not sure they even do now.

Don't get me started...

Wow! How entitled can one person be? Actually, regardless of what the FARs say, the jump seat actually belongs to Frontier and they will do with it what they want. I am sure the CPO would disagree with you on your stance of kicking positive space pilots off of the airplane. And, it's just a hunch, but I don't think the CPO et al would care all that much to blow you. Charming.

Even if the FARs say the Captain has final authority, I hope you are not naive enough to actually think you have final control over anything, because you don't. With that attitude and sense of entitlement I am sure you are just a peach to fly with.
