We have a 2 year contract because out CP can't fathom why anyone would want to leave at $37/hr pay... and he takes resignations as a personal insult.

Was that Aaron Rex?

No it wasn't AR. The reason she left was because she got recalled from furlough. Geez, tell the whole story not the version that suits you best.

It is true that she left because of a recall opportunity.

I believe the point remains that things are not butterflies and rainbows when an almost-50 year old captain who's been at the company 12-1/2 years and attained a mid-level management position decides to return to a very junior position at a different carrier. She'll also be commuting.

I'd say she was probably also in a better position than most of us average Joe (or Joann) line pilots to assess just how hard management will fight before agreeing to a new contract. The move certainly means more to me than just creating a need to hire a new assistant chief pilot.

Which reminds me... Where do I send my resume to be considered for the position. If you can't beat 'em...

Then you'll have to change your call-sign to ManagedClimb

This is spot on! Pay attention to what's ACTUALLY happening, not what you and/or the company wishes was happening.

That was clever. Yeah the last NC email wasn't encouraging. They basically said the company was already putting up a fight over tiny items like hotel language. This is going to be a 5 year plus process unless people start leaving in droves, or people stop showing up for class. I'd say people will stop showing up when upgrade time goes way up soon, but I bet we just lower our mins to ATP mins and get fresh outta the Seminole CFI FOs.

Exactly right. I felt discouraged but not surprised by the NC update. I still say a lack of pilots will never be a sufficient issue to give us bargaining power. The idea of an F9 ab-Initio program was off handedly hinted at in recurrent. Couldn't tell how serious they are, but a sr. mngr brought it up.
