I have been here a little over two years. I'm willing to bet a lot of us came here hoping F9 would be a great place to be, but more importantly F9 called and the legacies have not. F9 has great potential, but in my short 2 years I have seen the opposite take place. This management is set on making this place into a regional operated business with Airbus. I'm still cheering for F9 to become a great place and I would like to see a more unified pilot group. That being said, if DAL/UAL/AA call, I wouldn't hesitate to leave.

Take a look at Delta's reserve before making a blanket statement. We, ALL, have many things to improve before we can be content.

I am one! My blonde and white beard is my kids favorite thing. He cant wait until I grow it out again! Also to do this, you have to be content with 70-80 hours a month and get the pesty takeoff and landing expiration note.

In all honesty, dont keep telling yourself that! Reserve at Delta is pretty killer. Quality of life is excellent. Many senior pilots bid reserve.

Frontier Sucks.
1. The pay.
2. The hotels.
3. The flying.
4. Management.
5. The pilot group.
I write this as a 1 year employee. The pay is stupid here. Expect $900 checks every two weeks for your first year. You might hit a good month or get rolled. In that case you might get $1200. There is nothing in open time. Yes, most people get the base of their choice after a couple months and a line. Trust me, its not that cool.
2. Do you enjoy having fun on your overnights? Downtown hotels? Don't come here. We stay by the airport. No matter what, regardless of overnight duration. A good overnight at Frontier has a gas station and an Applebees.
3. Redeyes are unavoidable. Unless you are a bid ninja or glued to the computer you will fly redeyes. A lot of non redeye flying gets you in late at night and out early. Combine that with crummy hotels...
4. Management has made it very clear that any gains will be hard fought. Assuming a contract will pass, it'll be years. Get ready for a multi-year fight for another industry bottom POS.
5. This is most important. Frontier pilots are whipped. Starting the APU is considered an act of rebellion. We have a good group but 10 years of beatings have had their effect.
I understand anyone that wants to get out of the regionals. Just be very careful coming here. Get the type and get out. I think Frontier will be a sad case until we get swallowed up by someone else.

I've been at frontier for 2 years. This month, I used 7 days of vacation and ended up with a 25 day off month and 84 hours of credit. I'm currently in the middle of a 14 day vacation with my family. The pay here needs to go up, and it will. The quality of life here is just fine.
When making a career decision, look at the big picture. Frontier is going to be the fastest growing airline in the country for the next 5 years. Our contract is currently being negotiated and we might get a small pay raise before our next contract is signed. Careers are long, contacts are short. Don't confuse today's contract with what the future will hold.
Ok, now let the b*tching continue...

And don't confuse the kool-aid management is serving you with the blue juice from the lav.
Are you an assistant chief pilot, yet?

My only concern is the economic cycles, and how they play into the equation with regard to furloughs etc. For this reason, I suppose a person's age factors highly into a decision to shed the (i will not call them golden) hand-cuffs and take a number at the bottom of a legacy.
Tricky stuff.
