For a new hire, I think all three bases (Den, Mco, Ord) are easily attainable. Likely you could get Denver immediately, but each month they might have different needs. I think everyone gets their base of choice by the second vacancy, so maybe 1 or 2 months. I think lately a lot of new hires have been assigned Denver, and guys who wanted the other bases had to wait a month. Also, remember you are considered Denver based during training, so no hotel during ground school. Seniority is based on age

Just had recurrent at F9. CP/JP said 4000 is the realistic competitive mins, and of course an internal rec/silver bullet helps. Hiring 200 this year, 300 next two years. Very good timing now that ALPA is here and contract opens next year. No downside. Fleet doubling in 5 years. If you are on the books now, you will be a Captain then. Good luck.

Question for guys that have been here for over 10 years... I know the retirements going forward are minimal with a relatively young group. Has that been the case over the last decade as well? Or were there some periods since '06 where retirements had a larger impact on movement?
