All this talk of F9/NK Pilots being lower or second tier is just a negotiating strategy, but I wonder how the flying public would respond to a little news article outlining how airline management believes their pilot group(s) are sub-standard and lacking in their ability to operate the aircraft safely from departure to destination? I'd bet the quick decline in ticket sales will spur a rapid "realignment" of managements opinions. Just a thought. I bet the Denver Post would love to run that story...

He told our class that when he started out in the 70's he made $100/week flying freight in POS Lears and he would've been fired if he didn't shut one engine down for the descent, so we shouldn't complain. Then he made a crying face and wailed "whah whah".
This is the geriatric assclown we have to deal with?

It appears this may be a self disclosure the FAA might/should be interested in.
An Admission of operating a revenue aircraft (PIC or SIC) in an unsafe matter.
I'm not sure of the statue of limitations of an unsafe operation of an aircraft is; but maybe we should document these admissions?
The FAA or NMB, might be ineterested?

Frontier is one of my top choices but I'm not as familiar with it as I am others. What are the work schedules like, mostly 4 on 3 off? Are they any different than regionals or majors? What are the competitive minimums right now to get an interview? Thanks

We have a bunch of different reserve schedules, long, medium, and short call. And then you bid by what time of day you want to be on call. Anywhere from 4am to 5pm.
We have a mix of day turns up to 5 day trips. Lots of red eye flights.

For a new hire, I think all three bases (Den, Mco, Ord) are easily attainable. Likely you could get Denver immediately, but each month they might have different needs. I think everyone gets their base of choice by the second vacancy, so maybe 1 or 2 months. I think lately a lot of new hires have been assigned Denver, and guys who wanted the other bases had to wait a month. Also, remember you are considered Denver based during training, so no hotel during ground school. Seniority is based on age

Just had recurrent at F9. CP/JP said 4000 is the realistic competitive mins, and of course an internal rec/silver bullet helps. Hiring 200 this year, 300 next two years. Very good timing now that ALPA is here and contract opens next year. No downside. Fleet doubling in 5 years. If you are on the books now, you will be a Captain then. Good luck.
