Frontier Hiring.

For what it's worth, I recently ran into a Frontier FA. She kind of looked like she'd been up for 24 hours trying to escape from prison or something or a refugee that just swam for freedom. She told me to stay away from Frontier. Took the wind out of my sails a bit. The FAs don't lie.

FA's world is completely different from a pilots. Different schedules different treatment from management. I really don't know how many of them survive. That being said don't make a career decision based on what a FA says after a red eye.

She was going to work. And she meant the pilots. But yea definitely I agree with you.

This place can be frustrating... A lot of people who work here... Most people who work here are frustrated... At some point in time, every airline had been underpaid and the employee group has been ****ed... who knows if this place will pan out... You won't know how your career turned out until it's over... This place could tank like a regional or it could be the absolute best place to work in the entire industry in 5 years... If you get hired today, you have a chance to spend the majority of your career in the top 1/3 of a seniority list... There's something to be said about that... But today, if you have a chance to go to a legacy, you'd be crazy not to

There are many things that do suck at Frontier. Obviously pay being the biggest. The thing that was the biggest shocker for me was how bad the health care options are. This was a big step backwards from the regional I was at. Also no minimum daily guarantee makes for low credit trips. There are many things that made me shake my head during the first year and wonder to myself. "What have I done by coming here".
That being said I'm now on second year pay and things are much better. I have gained an incredible amount of seniority in a year. The flexibility to change your schedule is great. Vacation is really good I worked 7 days for my vacation month. If you live in domicile reserve is not bad, you can swap days and pick up trips with aggressive reserve. You can also work the system and hardly work at all. I've spent more time with my family in the last year than I ever have. The training department is great, the Airbus is great, the guys you fly with are all great.
So really it is some good and some bad. It sure beats most jobs. When I came here I knew it would take at least 3 years to know if I made the right decision. It's a high risk high reward opportunity. For those that are just starting out, the first year goes fast. Things change faster. Sleep well knowing you will be acquiring seniority fast and people keep telling me seniority is everything.

Yes, while the airline is in hiring mode, RSV is good. Listening to guys stuck on RSV, however, when there was no hiring, it was not good. But I do like the RSV rules here and will be very disappointed if they are bargained away even in the slightest for a perceived monetary equivalence.

That's not true. I have plenty of buddies who don't fly for literally months at legacies. The difference? They are making twice as much as you and I

I've been at frontier for 2 years. This month, I used 7 days of vacation and ended up with a 25 day off month and 84 hours of credit. I'm currently in the middle of a 14 day vacation with my family. The pay here needs to go up, and it will. The quality of life here is just fine.
When making a career decision, look at the big picture. Frontier is going to be the fastest growing airline in the country for the next 5 years. Our contract is currently being negotiated and we might get a small pay raise before our next contract is signed. Careers are long, contacts are short. Don't confuse today's contract with what the future will hold.
Ok, now let the b*tching continue...
