Realistically we dont have true two year upgrades. People are choosing to bypass. If it was not for that it would take 4-5 years.
Just thinking out loud here: This might make sense. Looking at July Bid Lists: We are +5 CA's in CHI, Equal in MCO and roughly + 30 CA's in Denver. That's 35 more CA's than FOs.

With the lion's share of attrition coming from the FO side, newhire classes in the Fall will even up the seats. Then possibly upgrades resume next year - No?

But it is hard to believe the "projections" of 270, here and 230 there when they aren't running classes 24/7

I'm confused by this too. The first neo already rolled off the line in Toulouse. They are putting seats in now and it enters service in September. Doesn't seem like the neo program is behind. Why would upgrades get canceled?

We are returning a lot of A319s aren't we. We haven't really added a significant amount of aircraft in that last 9 years. Back then we had around 55 aircraft.

My guess is upgrades will run about 30-36 months for those hired in 2014. If the company opens a west coast base (LAS, PHX) that will slow things down as senior FOs who have bypassed in DEN so they don't have to commute to the east coast will start upgrading. Take the growth projections from the company with a grain of salt. It's in their interest to present a rosy picture of two year upgrades and 20% growth year over year to potential new hires who are staring a $24,000 training contract in the face.

They're willing to open a west coast base on top of Denver? That strategy works for United with all of its vast resources, not sure what's behind Frontier's reason.

MGMT wants to transition from a traditional hub and spoke model to more point to point flying. Right now DEN is about 3 times the size of either ORD or MCO. The point to point strategy works better with smaller bases scattered around the country a la Spirit. The CEO has said the goal is to eventually have two bases in each time zone; one in the north and one in the south. LAS makes sense for the west coast because of the large volume of flying we do out of there especially with the high amount of redeyes.

What did Alpa do right and what did they screw up to warrant a .500 batting average?

Pursuing a grievance that may not have been previously, but missing the expectation of when the #8 NC newsletter would be published. Nothing major. Maybe an adjusted .600

I voted for them for my own reasons, but did so begrudgingly. I didn't see much choice given the lack of participation (apathy) and the size our group has grown to. Lots of pilots throwing rocks wanting everything done yesterday, but few willing to give of their time to make this a better place.

I'm still waiting to be impressed.

Not trying to pick a fight, but we are what? 3 months into negotiations and have received 6 newsletters from the NC.
When you and JT were Pres, I don't recall much more than 6 communications during your entire times in office. Now that might be a slight exaggeration, but not by much. I will admit that not much has happened yet under the 13 whole days we have officially been ALPA, maybe I need to raise my expectations a bit, that being said, I feel a whole hell of a lot better than I did being represented by FAPA. The company is over reaching more and more. While I like JG, working for FAPA was his third job and I think we will do better with a team of lawyers that is bigger than 1.
