I told JetBlue the same thing in 1999 because they were a start up with **** pay, no benefits and the pilots signed a contract.

Both those companies pilot groups were able to get gains in pay/work rules without unions for a while. They had a good labor/management relationship. What do you think would happen if we didn't have a union with the folks at indigo who own/"manage" us now? HA HA
Don't get me wrong there are great people at F9-good group of pilots to work with.
The upper management matters in where you choose to work, and the indigo folks have unfortunately shown that they would not **** on us if we were on fire.

It is unfortunate that there are good people who will pass up frontier but especially in this environment it would be a disservice to fellow pilots to not tell the truth about how things are here.

Actually they are showing Indigo. Way to be a jerk about it. These guys just did us a huge favor and you're belittling them. Until F9 has trouble filling classes nothing is going to change. It's sad that the regionals are now a more attractive and lucrative place to work than Frontier but that's the reality of the situation.

If you are looking at F9 or any other LCC as just a stepping stone (couple of years) you may be much better off at a wholly owned regional, with a quick upgrade, better first-year pay, health and travel benefits and not to mention commuter hotels in some cases.
And if you are young enough, don't forget the flow. In the meantime just keep applying for OTS hiring. Win-Win!

Exactly guys, don't listen to trowser. He's an ignorant management cheerleader. You did the right thing. You'll make more in year 1 at a regional, with your hotel paid for, and the call to a real major will come soon enough. The pilots here are great (well, minus one, clearly) but the product is embarrassing. I was more proud of the product we presented the public when I was with delta connection. Indigo doesn't GAS about anyone here, believe me.

You know, DAL doesn't pay for hotels after INDOC.
The truth is Y1 here is tough and ugly. And Indigo has made it harder by delaying necessary pay increases. When you look at F9 you simply have to decide if you can outlast Indigo. If you have 30 years left, you'll probably do very well for yourself at F9. If you have 5 years left, you'd do better somewhere else. If you have the ability to come and outlast the owners (who have been very vocal about making a profit and getting out quickly) then the long-term potential makes F9 more attractive.
Alas, to each his own. Set goals, make plans, stay the course. In the economy of 2016 it won't take long to land that dream job.
