The pay rates is what makes it underwhelming for me. At least from an outsider looking not understanding all of your work rules.
Just giving a prospective from a prospective new hire (current regional CA) that is losing interest in applying.
Not suggesting that I’m automatically going to be hired or given a slot anyway. Just giving a point of reference.

Oh man... I was just trying to be funny. The original post was basically a an unemployed guy who had zero interest in working here, coming into our forum to sh*t on us and then leave. I was just going for a little light humor after his dark post.
I don't bully people on here, I don't shut people down and I'm not management. If you knew me, you'd know I frequently post on here about asking people to not apply until our deal is voted in. Which I wholeheartedly stand by. If this TA gets shot down, we seriously need people to hold off applying and accepting class dates.

I have been reading the forums because I wanted to learn more about what’s going on. Before I read about F9 I was thinking about applying. I was really disappointed to learn they don’t put you up in a hotel during training and how low the pay is etc. It was really frustrating to learn more about what they’ve put you guys through.
I think I’m more on your side than you think. Perhaps I didn’t word the original message well and I was misunderstood.
One more time; it’s hard for me to imagine how F9 has attracted as many applicants as it has considering the way things are. I’m not personally attacking anyone who flies for F9 or who is applying. I don’t know their personal circumstances and I wouldn’t take it out on them.
I’m sure there are a lot of pilots who question my current career move. It would be a lot easier to give in and go fly corporate for reasonable pay than to go fly for a regional. You could argue that I’m part of the problem perhaps because I’m willing to work for regional pay. I have my reasons and they make sense to me.

jeeezus....

I'll make up my mind, as will the rest of the sane people here, when we have the full TA in hand.

You know who says that? Automatic yes voters. If you can't perform some basic analysis on what is given, and you need to be told how much of your vacation you can pimp yourself out for to get "into the pattern".... then by all means, go get brainwashed.

Ok, while your post seems like an intelligent way of responding, it’s very telling...
We have a summary of the AIP. We have the rates. We have some cryptic language about min duty period, etc. The pay rates alone that we do already have in print puts us at the bottom of all domestic narrow body airbus carriers. Of course, pay rate alone doesn’t paint the full picture but unless those rates come with some EXTREMELY lucrative scheduling options, the rates will relegate us to the bottom still. Is this really not conspicuous? Can we (and everyone else including all other airbus pilots, ALPA, regional pilots, etc) not see this? Are none of us smart enough to realize the pay difference? Are you?
This isn’t rocket science. If you’re waiting to read the full package expecting some unforeseen benefit that wasn’t highlighted in the bullet points already, you’ve got your head in the sand. If there was some additional scheduling benefit or other great deal that justifies the lower wages, it would’ve been mentioned - prominently. When you factor in PBS, the lower DC, lack of any override whatsoever and a # of other items that are either still below industy average or nonexistent (because we failed to ask for it), this AIP is WELL BELOW AVERAGE. It just is. Debating that at this point is futile. The cat is out of the bag now - trying to convince others (and yourself) that it isn’t, is pointless (although I’m sure a few will still try). Of course we’re all going to read the AIP prior, but the educational sounding answer of “I’ll wait and see” is a good way to make it seem like you don’t already have enough info to make a somewhat informed decision. You do.
My point is that I think there are more F9 pilots who realize like I do, that while it is an increase, that increase is not enough. This is an obvious no vote for me - mgt didn’t come close to making an offer that would be near what 50.1% will say yes to.
So, if you’re thinking about coming to F9, it’ll probably be a while before we get a TA.

This thread has gone off topic. This is the “hiring” thread, not the negotiations thread. Here is your PSA for the day...
Now is NOT the time.
Management is up to their same old deceitful tricks. ALPA has been premature in announcing our perceived progress. We are nowhere near being at the point where you should be applying to this airline. When TA1 goes down in flames you will have buyers remorse and be treated poorly by management AND pilots. If we roll over and expose our soft underbellies and vote in this industry trailing contract and your self worth is low enough that you’re ok with that...well no PSA will help you grow a pair.
