If it is not simple coincidence (I think it is) then Air Tran just cut themselves a notch down in my book as this would mean that immaturity has infiltrated the interview/recruiting department.

Remember, GoJet is relatively small. A GJ pilot will be on Air Tran's list, it's only a matter of time.

I did go to Gulfstream Academy when I got my 250 hrs and am so thankful that I did, because it got me the job im at now. I am flying for a 135 right now making what a 6 year captain makes at most regionals. I want to make the switch to a company that flies jets because all of the majors desire jet time. Im willing to take the pay cut and the "crap" so that I can have a future with the majors. It's not doing me much good flying day VFR all day long to the same airport everyday. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices for future benefits, and if GoJet is looking for pilots then I would gladly go there.

You "want" the crap at the regionals. Good luck.

I hope you have a long career with Go Jet.
I just did that. I don't see your argument. Frankly, I don't see why you are concerned with other people's paychecks. If there are differences, we're typically talking a dollar or two. GJ capts aren't on the bottom of the 70 seat pay scale. I'd call them in the middle.

They aren't close to a common 50 seat payscale either.

*my source is APC though, so take that FWIW......

Go Jet 5yr Capt at guarantee $5032 per month Flying 70 Seats
AWAC 5yr Capt at guarantee $5025 per month Flying 50 Seats

AWAC has cancellation pay for WX, MX, Block or better, and various other soft time I cannot remember that I'm sure puts the pay for 50 seat flying on a concessionary contract at a higher rate than your current 70 seat flying rate. The above numbers are directly from the APC Regional pay scales at the monthly guarantee.

I'm concerned about your pay because when you are willing to fly larger aircraft for less money it entices my management to outsource flying resulting in the furlough of mainline jobs. This directly concerns me since it is one of the reasons I am currently furloughed. Which leads me to ask where will you move onto if mainline keeps outsourcing more flying. Are you willing to fly 90 seat jets for your 70 seat rates if offered just to get a quicker upgrade?

This is just simply incorrect. There are some that want the jet time, but there are plenty that don't. The negative of being a GoJetter will most likely outweigh the positives of having the jet time anyway. Sounds like SJS to me. I can understand wanting to escape the 1900 though.

Wanting to escape the 1900?!?!?! Are you crazy?

1) The 1900 is pretty badass.

2) He paid for the privilege to fly a 1900...how bad can he reeeeeeeally want to "escape" the 1900?

C) See #1.

Don't forget about us 135 cowboys who are too dangerous and unprofessional to walk through the door, smack the FA on the ass, tell her to bring me a rum and coke...on the rocks, make the left hand turn, sit on my duff and grab the ATIS. We're not welcome at AirTran either.

Before someone has an aneurysm, there's some sarcasm in there folks. Not all of it, but some of it.

It's really no big deal. AT wants who they want. So does Delta, FedEx, Conited (hah) and the rest of the scarelines. If you don't qualify for an interview or employment because of who you work for, who you worked for, a degree you have or don't have, or the color of your skin....does it sound like that's a place you'd reeeeeeeeally want to work anyway? If AT doesn't want GoJet pilots, then they won't hire any. No big deal. The GoJet guys and gals can go elsewhere. I don't see that as an "impact" on ones career. We're all going to end up in the same spot in the end anyway.

Diapers, school, flipping burgers, college, parties, penicillin, more parties, more penicillin, hired, furloughed, recalled, hired, furloughed, recalled, retired, hired, heart attack, pills, diapers, dead. Most people aren't going to put "PROUD AIRTRAN (or insert another airline) PILOT!" on their headstone.

5 yr capt pay differences..... monthly guarantee.

mesaba (90 seat) - $5325 ----- that's more than 50 seats.
mesa (70 seat) - $4864 ---- that's more than 50 seats *look at the 90 seat pay if you feel like punching your keyboard.
pinnacle (90 seat) - $5175 ---- that's more than 50 seats
skywest (both the 70 and the 90) - $5175 ---- that's more than 50 seats.
gojet (66 seat) - $5032

none of em are gonna get any of us a bentley.

Hey man if you know your stuff there's nothing wrong with being a 250hr wonder... A lot of people like to hate on you for getting wear you are with less time for the mere fact that they had to dump lavs and wash planes and what have you to scrape up 1000 which nowadays isn't much either... I was hired to a "Premier Regional" with 575 not much more huh???
