You realize this whole argument makes no sense? If what you are saying is true, then there is absolutely no point in having a union. If the flying isn't "ours" then we have no leverage, thus management has ZERO reason to EVER give us anything we want no matter how small(TSA is just lookin to be average). There is nothing stoping Uncle Hulie from doing this everytime a contract becomes amendable. Why give in to simple demands when he can just transfer the flying to a new airline everytime? What I can't figure out is, why GoJets always uses this argument..."well its not your flyin anyway"...Apparently GoJets likes being on the opposite end of the whipsaw. And for the last time, stop blaming our MEC. Thats old.

Oh...and you don't think mgmt has Gojets under their thumb as well? Muahahahah.

The Teamsters are GJ ARE management. If one of their pilots told scheduling that they will not fly the TSA struck flight, they will be fired. Good luck to any of them who look to their "Union" for help.

Ask that to the 3 line pilots who ran for union positions and got fired.

"It's ok! We're union now!" Yeah, right....

Pause...really? Are you really rationalizing crossing a picket line already? TSA hasn't even been released yet. TSA ALPA knows exactly which flights are on their schedule every month. If you fly one of these flights, you will be a SCAB, period.

Lets all settle down and take a deep breath.

As we can see above, Zapata in his wisdom has only ordained three of us as trolls. Until the Great Zapata names you one you are all just "wannabes."Sorry guys

This is an incorrect statement that has the potential to cause people trouble when their regional peers strike. When a regional strikes they set up a strike center ( I believe TSA has already begun organizing theirs). When a legal strike is called by the union, the flights which were assigned to that carrier become struck work. For example, if TSA flies 2 flights a day to ORD from STL for united (just an example number) and Republic flies 3 from STL making a total of 5 united departures STL-ORD. TSA calls a legal strike, Republic could continue to fly their original 3 segments but any additional segments on this route would be considered stuck work and any republic pilots flying them would be SCABS. (Just an example airline, no offense to Republic)

This sort of situation is what strike centers are for, if a pilot at another airline notices an unusual trip they can call the striking airline strike center to verify that the unusual segment is NOT struck work.

If you don't think that's how it works, I hope the unions have mercy on your soul because flying additional segments WILL result in you being labeled a SCAB, as it should. If you believe that the flying "doesn't belong to the striking carrier" I warn you that very few union pilots will agree with you.

Hopefully we as pilots can understand that in a collective bargaining environment, if you stab your fellow pilot in the back, you're stabbing yourself in the back too eventually. And for good measure, what goes around comes around. Someone might decide YOU'RE working for too much money too and offer to do it cheaper.

Don't flatter yourself...I meant the general "you", not you in particular.

I'm not being a tough guy, I'm informing prospective GJ pilots that they will be forced to choose their job or scabbing if TSA strikes. Whether you are a union guy or not, I think we can all agree that crossing a picket line is reserved for the lowest of the low.

Really?

Rapists, child molesters, even guys that cheat on their wives....or people who wear popped collars (STOP!!!).

No but seriously. Anyone that could rape (anyone), murder (anyone) or hurt a child is far worse than someone going in to do their job...whether it screws you or not.

You need some better priorities.

Next time don't speak in such absolutes.

I understand what you were saying and getting at, but "lowest of the low"? There are far worse out there than someone crossing a line. I think we can all agree on that. At least most reasonable humans would be able to.

Maybe find a different way to describe them? Just a suggestion.

We're talking about pilots, not criminals.

In our world there are many actions that could be looked down upon. For example, picking up open time with pilots on furlough, waiving certain contract protections, or flying for certain companies. However, in our world, those who scab are the lowest of the low. Of all the moral choices that a pilot has to make, choosing to scab is the worst.

We were talking about a specific group of people, not everyone from Jeffery Dahmer to Jesus.
