New planes that's nice but how are they going to staff them when you hear the classes are almost empty?

This is correct. |
We are unscheduled down 3 airplanes on the Delta side and 2 on the United side. 3 of them I know are due to incidents. Crewing them is definitely not the problem. We have more people on property than we did a few months ago.

The word is out as to what it is like at Gojet. They have not changed and they won't change. They might try and treat people like human beings now. They may bribe employees to convince people to go there. But in the end, it will be the same.
They will get someone to post on this site that "I have been at Gojet almost 3 months and they have really changed. All the guys I have flown with are really nice." What the message really is: "I have been here 3 months and they have not had a reason to get me yet!" But they will. There are choices out there. Why start at the bottom when the bottom may cause you to have to stay there. |
I just read through about 20 pages and have to say, youguys are pretty damn funny!
I'm a current National Guard Helicopter pilot who is looking into GoJet.... Let me rephrase - WAS looking into GoJet... It sounds like they really are bad news huh? Let me present a question to the group, if you had to order the following list of regionals from best to worst - how would you arrange it (as of today)?? - GoJet - Republic - PSA - ExpressJet This will really help out in streamlining my application process! THANKS! |

THANKS! ExpressJet is a dead horse. their future is very uncertain, so I wouldn't go there. Republic is garbage, don't even think about it. The pilot group is great, it has nothing to do with them. Management will abused you more than at any other airline. Their contract, in my opinion, is one of the worst in the industry if not the worst. When you compare contracts don't just look at the money. QOL is just as important. Now if you live in one of their bases, and it will save you the commute, I can't blame me for going there. PSA is growing and is told to be hiring until mid 2017. Any regional you'll choose will be a mixed bag of good and bad, there is no such thing as a good regional. You just need to think what are your priorities. Hope that helps |
Thanks very much for the info guys! I am in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area and the airport is 15 minutes from my house. That is pretty hard to igore since RDU is also one of their pilot domiciles... That was the main reason I was looking at them... That and I heard that the promotion time to captain was pretty short...
Republic has a domicile about an hour away in Greensboro, NC, which would be doable as a drive a few times a week... I have heard great things about Compass and a few others, but my main issue with getting on with one of those companies are two fold: - Commuting across timezones can REALLY screw with your internal clock leading to increased exhaustion, stress (both on family and at work), etc - I have to maintain currency in the AH-64 which means I need to reside on the east coast. When you start dropping currency in that thing, life gets pretty stressful (not to mention dangerous)... It sucks that starting out in regionals has to be so such a bad deal seemingly everywhere... I think my main goal is to just jump in with both feet SOMEWHERE, give all I can, expect to be paid like crap and hopefully find / qualify for something else in a few years. Isn't that what we are all trying to do? :) |

between GoJet, Trans States, Mesa, and ExpressJet, which would be the best move (if you could move to the base, which I could)

Why isn't Compass an option? They have a single fleet type and it's one that's in demand. They don't have a bunch of 50 seaters. They're a young pilot group with the top 150 guys leaving this year plus a growth of 20 aircraft. Upgrades are much quicker compared to other places and they treat you really well. Just opened a SEA base. I would consider upgrade times, reserve time, which at compass is less than a month, and bases. If you want west coast compass is great because west coast bases are junior. If you want east coast there is a lot of options. Read the forums and see which group has the least amount of hate. You can figure out pretty quick which pilot groups are happy and those that aren't.

They took about two weeks w my application. They were the last one to reply. Maybe not to look so desperate.

GoJet worked for me. It's a good place if you can drive to work.
It made me a big winner...right there. |

Trans States? Really?... Do you think it is around the corner (close enough) to apply with them with the hopes of a job based out of RDU in the Summer? Based upon your previous posts i'm going to guess you are at TSA. I would take a step back because by no means are you at a "good regional"!!! After 7 years of negotiations you guys still have no duty regs or min day. Oh but you did get leg by leg cancelation and 100% deadhead that didn't take effect until 1 year after signing date. Wow you guys really killed it with 7 years of negotiations. Oh and not to mention that TSA was the original ones who had the bag tags made in regards to them taking American Eagle flying "No Alter Eagle Jet" ring a bell? Get real buddy you are at just another crappy regional airline and your sh*t stinks like every body else. Get over yourself!!!!
