The company guys are sent there with no authority, their one job is to listen, ask questions, and talk about how much they would like to do what is being asked but it will create lots of problems, they will have to consider it very carefully but will see what they can do on it. Lets get together in about 3 months and discuss it again. Delay, delay delay. Gosh, sounds like republic and is it PSA?

Quick update for those of you planning on leaving. Gojet did not pay me my vacation pay when I quit. I gave two weeks notice and did not call in sick. Just letting you guys know. I was really planning on having that money. Don't want someone to end up in trouble like I was. Feel free to PM me and I will tell you the way they attempted to justify it. Doing the same thing to my friend right now.

If he wants a paying job he should go deep fry pieces of chicken. After a while he can build his time and eventually deep fry Turkeys! Republic has a $20,000 training contract that this airline doesn't have, and 8HourRule is complaining about loosing $2000 in vacation pay! He should be bragging to everyone that he came out $18,000 ahead! This airline could have treated you halfway decently and you might have become happy and content and lost all your aspirations to go to a major. That would have ruined your life and you would not even have known it! You need to have a seat on your fat asp, pull out a pen and a piece of paper and write this airline a letter thanking them for the opportunities they gave you and how they allowed you to keep your desire to eventually get a job that pays money and where they treat you with respect. Send me your address and I will even send you the pen and paper with a stamped envelope to get you started. Maybe one of the other guys will come over and wipe your asp after the next time you give a crap, you sick ungrateful pilot want-to-be!
Did you explain that when you turned your Jeppesens in they found one of the 3000 pages was missing and another one had a coffee stain on it! Did you, did you tell them that! A missing page and a coffee stain and you expect your vacation pay. Call your mom because she is the only one who wants to hear this ship. Imagine if they had given those Jeps to another pilot, I can see the headline now, "Plane from respected airline crashes into manure truck during approach into Saint Louis, coffee stained approach plate found on scene! Former pilot who is sought for questioning is on the run after leaving his vacation hotel with unpaid charges." There are 2 types of people at that airline, the ones who are "planning on leaving", and the ones the airline is about to fire. Those in the second category are thinking that - "they won't fire me because they are desperate for pilots and can't get anyone to come here!" It seems like every few days someone gets a big suprise! After all, its the Christmas season. To quote a former chief pilot there as described by his roomate's girlfriend, "I didn't plan on firing anyone today, but one guy came in and before I knew what was happening I had fired him. Bad day for him, ... he he he." Now, here comes the funny part, he fired the roomate's girlfriend a few weeks later. I highly recommend this airline to anyone willing to take a gamble. Eventually they will either have to improve their ways or shutdown. If they improve their ways you will get all the benefit of the fast movement because of the high amount of attrition! And each and every day you go to work you will experience the thrill and excitement of the life of a soap opera actor! The gossip of hearing about who was terminated and why, about Bob quitting and them not paying his vacation, about Diedra getting breast cancer then being fired, about Dawn publicly supporting the union and being fired, and the constant intrigue created by always wondering when you will be written off of the script! It was a gamble for anyone to go to Eastern Airlines in 1988 but the potential benefits were incredible! This could be your Eastern! Have some balls and Goooo---Jettttt! |

Yup happened to me too and I already posted this issue early on in this thread but some people didn't believe it. I didn't pursue any more actions because the time and stress involved was not worth $500 bucks. |

Pilot shows up at a Compass interview and long story short, the panel found out he worked for GoJet ( not by some magic, it came up in the interview because the pilot disclosed it). I don't know the specifics but he was told by the panel that they would love to hire him but upper management would not allow it. The panel actually suggested the pilot seek legal actions. The reason why you cannot flow from one airline to another like you are able to at RAH, is because of the difference in contracts between all three airlines. All three airlines need to operate, and so they don't want pilots to transfer every time one airline gets a better contract than the other. Plus, this is something that would need to be agreed upon by the Union MECs and Gojet is IBT whereas Compass and TSA are ALPA. |

However, think about this for a moment.... 1. There were tons of FOs who were close already to the original 4500TT. 2. All those who came off the street Junior but with over 4500TT and were just waiting to get the 1000 in company cannot upgrade now 3. Senior FOs are supper happy but Junior FOs from other companies are ****ed because they were promised a quick upgrade and are now looking at three plus years. 4. This is a marketing scheme!!!!!!!!! If you don't get why, let me know and I'll break it down a bit more. 5. To Sum up; upgrades are still three plus years!!!!!! and you are going to work with a pilot group that is divided. |

I'm guess I'm tired of hearing guys complain about Nogojet. There are the fools that go there without researching how bad it is and then there are the idiots who learn how bad it is and go anyway. They go there, make a bad joke and get fired and then they want to complain! I don't get that. Of course this site has always deleted negative posts about Nogojet until recently, so maybe there are people that just don't know. What's the difference between a NoGoJet pilot and a pizza? A pizza can feed a family of 4. (Actually resulted in the teller being terminated. The question for you is, was he fired because it insulted the company, or did they feel they had to fire him because his jokes were so bad the company was embarrassed?) |

I am sure this hasn't been shutdown yet because the comments are constructive and accurate. There is not pilot bashing or wars about nonsense, just facts. If we keep it that way, more future applicants can truly take advantage and make a well informed decision. Keep it clean! LOL :) |
I got my vacation paid. I didn't call in sick during the last month and I got what was owed to me.

Just read through some legal notices and retirement fund stuff from my Trans States Holdings enrollment; ironic since I left in there a long time ago and did not put $0.01 into the retirement program. I vividly recall our ground school instructor and check airman were out the door the same day we headed over to FSI for systems. That plus the teamsters presentation and I knew this place was in trouble.

I went to Gojet. The one thing GJ and I agree on is that I need my head examined. I combined ignorance and insanity and ended up at Gojet.
I did hear a funny joke one day at GJ; What is the difference between a GJ pilot and a pizza? A pizza can feed a family of 4. The guy who told the joke was fired at the next break. |
I suggested that on takeoff, instead of saying "Set Thrust" they should say "Go----Jet" and for landing they should say "Wow-Jet". I could not even get a smile. I found that you don't make any suggestions on how to improve anything there because the guys in charge take it as a personal insult. Being at GJ is like being in 7th grade again and you have to walk past the 8th grade bully who has been king of the 8th grade for the past 3 years. At least at GJ you don't have any lunch money they can take. (No cancelation pay, etc!)

Live near a one leg base... Yes!! Overall good group of pilots and good company with a good contract. Im just not going to chase knee jerk reactions to the environment right now. I believe things will be fine for xjt, maybe not PSA or tsa growth right now but everything I've heard is those companies are having trouble fulfilling those large contracts.... XJT will be fine!!!
