Heard from a high up in management that there is a possible $5000 bonus in the works. Nothing posted yet tho.

John2375 07-18-2014 07:32 PM

In their initial email to me, offering me an interview, they said all new-hire FOs will be eligible for a $5k bonus...

I wonder if that's true or they were jumping the gun a bit...

phlyingPhil 07-18-2014 07:35 PM

Interesting I interviewed recently and I never heard this

If I were to get that in say a year and half, how long do you think a person in my situation would take to upgrade?

Hmmm, I wonder if Part 135 time would count as Part 121 time... Maybe you should just read that sentence and think about it for a minute..

Ya learn something new everyday.

With the opening of the Denver base, are we anticipating a Change in our united route structure or destinations? Or are we planning to do basically the same flying with just a different base structure?

What I really care about is are we doing any west coast flying? We don't here a lot of rumors in Raleigh. I have no idea what the game plan is.

Got offered a 9/15 class date, and I think I'm gonna take it. Anyone have any insight or advice for training? The email said there's no restaurants or anything within walking distance... does uber exist there? Or should I drive (1000 miles). Also is it possible to commute home on the weekends (mco)?

Walking, there's a bandanas by the hotel, you'll get to know that well, and a gas station down the street. Tons of cheap stuff 10 minute driving, including a Walmart. Not a bad idea to bring a car, stl is only a day or two driving from most major cities.

I'm assuming there still putting you in the Extended Stay America. There is a TGI Fridays just down the street in the Crowne Plaza easy to get to. About a 10min walk to Schnucks if you want to buy food for yourself. Do you know how many are in you class? There was 11 in mine and most of us had cars and helped out the ones that didn't. I don't think we even used the hotel shuttle much because of it.

There are about 6 flights a day to mco on Southwest. A lot of the teachers will ask the class if you want to do a 30min lunch break a day(vs 1hr) that way they can get you out early on Friday if your trying to commute.

Also, I think Uber is still here. There was a big thing in the news about it a wile ago. Taxi drivers were mad they where losing money. PM me if you have any other questions.

What's with the Delta flying? Is it pretty secure? In the past I thought there was talk of it going to XJT. Thanks for the info.

Last week I found out that I am scheduled for an Oct. 6th class date. If there is anyone currently in training that would care to share their experiences, I would be most appreciative!!

The post by vwaste above is spot on.,

To add to his post..

Everyone in the training center wants you to succeed. 2 weeks of Indocs at the HQ followed by 3 weeks of systems at Flight Safety..

Oral exam is very fair & there is nothing asked in the oral that you will not know, if you pay attention in class & take notes...

Just start working on the Memory items, just the double box items & Limitations, the boxed items. Know them cold, Most examiners will have very little tolerance if you don't know those..

Flight Safety Instructors are awesome, both in the ground school & the sims...

Enjoy....

$1,500 after completion of IOE, $1,500 after 6 months & 2,000 after 1 year...

Either way you slice it, it is approx $400 per month extra in your 1st year..

No delays that I know of. My class had there pick of sim schedules based on class seniority. Some started 2 days after the end of ground school others waited about a week. Took me 11 days from sim1 till the Loft at the end. Two of the 11 days were days off.

I wonder if GoJet has any plans to attempt to retain pilots. This PSA announcement should have everyone in the right seat looking to move on.

False. I was hired about 20 months ago. Not even close to the left seat. 2 upgrades at a time. I'm about 30 out and getting pushed down more every month.

Embassy Suites down the street has free happy hour from like 5-8pm every day. Hop on over and get a few bites and drinks for free. They don't really check if you're a guest there. ;)

What's the latest at G7 training. A couple of months ago only 2 showed up for their class of 20. I heard last month they actually had 10 show up, is that correct. They had talked about downsizing beginning in Sept, did that happen? Did they start to grow again? Did they stop hiring and that explains why things have been so quiet about them the last month?

Oh, wait.

I noticed that posts about G7 seem to disappear and the poster is never heard from again. I'm assuming that G7 has made threats to the host. If you read this post make a note of when an where it is and how long it takes to remove the post and banish me from posting. Let the timing begin.

Lets play a game. Lets guess how long it takes for this post to be removed. I will guess 5pm on 10/7/14. Any other guessers? I guess I won't know until I am banished? How many guesses can we get in before it is removed!
