In all honesty, I'm not a Slats fan either, but it is pretty funny. It seems like you've interviewed at every single regional and have already been employed by several! Pick one and stick with it already!

AVIATORCFI 03-14-2014 01:50 PM

Some pilots like to collect coins , some like to collect postal stamps, some like to pick on other pilots and tallflyer likes to experience every regional out there so let it be.

You sure about that?

Okay, so you didn't interview at Great Lakes. There, happy?

I am not a Slats fan either, he/she is a pain in the arse and says some off the wall crap. Either way, sometimes he/she is right but most of the time Slats is full of **** and vinegar.

That is a correct statement. It's also correct to say I've only worked at one regional.

But I do ask a lot of questions.

That id definitely not true. GoJet is bleeding FOs. I know two with upcoming interviews at aa, one at virgin, and two with upcoming dates at jet blue. Three more just left for corp. Captains on the other hand seem to be having a hard time catching a break. I only know a few with potential opportunities at Spirit and a few leaving for corp. Doesnt sound like they are losing the amount of captains they were planning yet.

RgrMurdock 03-14-2014 05:27 PM

Isn't that what I just said? You need CA's to move on to precipitate movement.

Hi everybody! I have been reading this forum for a long time but just now starting to join in. I think I got most of the information but just looking for a general update and confirmation as I have recently interview with GoJet.

Upgrade times? (12 months) Would that change at all if I have 121 time already?

Most junior base? (I'm hoping to get STL any chance of that?)
Reserve times?
How long does training take?
After the April 7th class is the next one really not till August?
Random question but do the 700's have wifi on them?

Thanks for the help!

Almost all pilots have had "better work rules" than those at Gojet, since the day Gojet started...

Upgrade times are WELL beyond 12 months. Probably beyond 24 months. 121 time will help you get through training. Seniority will get you the left seat.

Most junior base is RDU. STL is easy to get as of now. So short FOs you can take your pick.

Reserve times are back down to a month or toe for now in RDU. Not Sure about ORD. STL is probably around a year.

89 days.

They don't tell us anything. Not sure about classes.

The delta planes do.

Vwaste 03-23-2014 12:13 PM

Thanks for the quick reply 8hourrule. I got an email from HR is it says "Upgrades are approximately 12 months". I take it that is just an exaggeration to get more pilots?

8hourrule 03-23-2014 12:29 PM

GoJet updates

A large one. I have been here a year and 4 months. I don't expect to upgrade anytime this year.

TallFlyer 03-23-2014 12:44 PM

I take every upgrade time told me by a recruiter with a large grain of salt. A my current place they told us 18 months, but we can't keep FOs right now.

As for GoJet, it seems like there's a lot of FOs leaving for bigger and better things, not just Captains.

I was told August would be the first class beyond April.

Reserve is really that short in RDU? How many days off are line holders getting? Are you bidding lines or PBS? Online trip trading?

Falcon900pilot 03-23-2014 02:53 PM

GoJet has a few issues...

The biggest issue that I see is that the Union is just plain awful. They do absolutely zero for the pilot group and although the pilot group desperately wants another union, they are going to be hard pressed to find one. The crews there are really great folks; they do their best to make the most of things but they know management doesn't care about them and they exploit the crappy contract that the pilot group has; not that the union would ever enforce what little there is...

FO's don't want to deal with the BS and so they leave; with very few exceptions everyone is looking for better. Until the union they have is replaced and a reasonably good contract is in place, people will continue to bail.

Their are good folks here. It's sad to see such great potential go to waste, but I don't see a solution any time soon.

JetRage 03-23-2014 04:37 PM

Can someone please explain to me why we're not starting another class till August when were already understaffed? I suspect it's because they're behind on IOE. But all I hear is rumors.

New hires waiting to be put on IOE 30+ day wait / company being cheap , flying captain Captain if needed . No new growth of course so last I heard they want more flying with the same number of planes / meaning work us more .

GoJet updates

Hope none of our guys going to sit airport ready in ORD got mixed up in that train crash.

He's an IOE Checkairman, I'm sure his numbers are accurate. Remember some people are doing 50-60+ hours of IOE...

I find it interesting that the attrition is at the FO level and not the CA.

This is why we can't have nice things....

TallFlyer 03-25-2014 01:09 PM

So 60 hour guarantee until you're through IOE? Sounds like a paid month off between sims and the line then.....

Basically. Then 75 hours min guarantee after IOE. I am told you have to watch your paychecks for accuracy... seems that's the industry status quo at least for the majority of regional airlines :(

So long as they're leaving for LCCs, Legacies, etc, I don't see it as a bad thing.

How many have gone on to Emirates? I know the 700 is above their weight requirement.

Of course not. Like I said in an earlier post, GoJet with a great union and solid contract would be a great place to work. The schedulers are nice, and the crews are great to work with. Even some people in management aren't that bad.

Vwaste 03-25-2014 08:10 PM

I can confirm that there will be classes is in May and June. However, they will be small classes just to cover attrition. See you on the line!

When you find the perfect place, do tell... will ya Tbucket?

Tbucket is and has been obsessive about hating gojet for years.

Life isn't what she thought it would be and it drives her bananas.

Just out of curiosity, if you've already worked at a 121 airline, how do you not know how upgrade works?

Vwaste 03-27-2014 06:57 AM

I know it's kind of a far fetched question. I was curious if because pilots are required to have a 1,000 hours as co-pilot in air carrier operations prior to serving as captain now and the fact that GoJet doesn't have many FO's if this would mean that seniority would be skipped in effort to find a qualified applicants.
