You can say the same about yourself can't you? You've been around.

How many have you interviewed with? How many did you pass?

How many have you gotten fired from?

After TSA you went to GoJet. So which place did you like more considering you have experience from both sides of the school house.

Did you enjoy your time with GoJet before they terminated you? How did you explain your G7 termination to air willie? Air Wisconsin makes your third regional, no?

Chalk up a hat trick to the DMB score board.

Are you writing my biography or are do you just enjoy being a typical gojet tool?

Sure? I've interviewed at 4 airlines. Hired by all 4. And TSA was better than GoJet...considering I was "fired" before lunch on the first day of indoc. And from all the stories I've heard of the former chief pilot...I don't really sweat it. Not sure what any of that matters though. Just got a B6 class date. They didn't seem to swear it either. Just bernouli being bernouli and runnin her mouth like she does best.

Let me teach you a lesson...the professional thing to do while traveling in uniform is to check in with the crew to remove all question of who you are. There are jumpseateres that do not check in, so separate yourself from those people. It takes twenty seconds to check in with the crew and by doing so you may get an upgrade the proper way.
Remember this business is all about networking and you never know who you may meet and how that person may become a contact to help you in the future.
I can promise you that in this situation you'll certainly be remembered...as the douche bag 135 guy that was so offended he threatened calling the CP to report some guys for doing that which is in their scope and authority. Does not sound to me like they crossed any lines or made a scene...they did the right thing, you did not!!
You obviously feel empowered by jumping on the GoJet haters train, but that train has unfortunately already left the station and no one really cares about it any longer. GoJet may have a few sour apples, but for the most part they are a good group. You may try to make them out as scum of the regional world, but all you're really trying to do is make yourself feel better about your own, obviously crappy world and life. Go ahead and keep hating but GoJet'ers are now and will soon be filling more cockpit seats at UAL, AAL, and DAL...and thankfully you'll still be 135 with your bad attitude!!! Or you can let those courses in professionalism pay off, do the right thing, think for yourself, not be a band-wagoner, and find some happiness instead of wasting a crew's time at the gate or a chief pilot's time with your nonsense.

You are an idiot, as is the other G7 guy in here saying to "check in" with the captain. That is ludicrous that you even suggested that.
"Hey guys, my company paid a pile of money for a last minute ticket, but I just wanted to make sure you don't get your leather jacket in a wad... cool if I go back now?"

And the Delta captain doing the same thing is a tool as well. Go ask the gate agent, it's as simple as that.

It never ceases to amaze me how full of them selves a large number of pilots are.

Probably one of the most ignorant posts I've read all year.

Difference of opinion my friend. I never said to check in and wait for approval to go to my seat, just a courteous hello. As to me being an "idiot", I'll go out on a limb and gamble that your ignorance comes from small anatomical parts, starting with your grey matter and working south from there! Good luck in your career oh wise one

Sure...2008 I got furloughed from Trans States...They told us we have jobs at G7 if we want them. Didn't even need to interview really. Update a resume, show up for a token interview and we would be good to go. So a group of us went. I got a call a week later from someone in HR who I know personally and she was completely surprised that they decided not to hire me. She made it sound like I bombed the "interview." Turns out, out of the 5-6 of us who interviewed...none of us were hired. 2 weeks later I got a call at 5:30 on a Friday, telling me to be in class at 8:00 am on Monday and not to ask any questions why I was now hired. So I show up. 8:30...they gave me a check for a days pay and told me I wasn't in this class and handed me a letter saying I was fired. When I was then recalled to TSA, I asked the CP about it and he chuckled, shook his head, and said that wasn't all that surprising. He said if it was something legimitment, I would have never been recalled to TSA, seeing how I was on probation there at the time as well. I still took all this personally until staying in a crashpad in STL and seeing about 5 new hirers per week come back with that same letter and pack their stuff up for home. I survived the valentines day massacre at TSA so I must know how to do something right. Trust me...I don't sweat it.

Oh...and after the last furlough from TSA...they were nice enough to call and tell me I was elegible for rehire if I would like to interview. I declined.

Wow, sounds like a class act operation...............SMH. Seriously though what is it about regional airlines that make it acceptable to operate a company like this?

There's no excuse for treating people like that ANYWHERE. Glad that things have worked out for you regardless!

We squabble over nothingness on these boards. While I'm thankful for my job, there's a lot about this industry I couldn't defend if I wanted to. I really wish there's was true leadership among our pilots, unions and management.

This is a company that was formed to screw over pilots, why would you be surprised when their management does just that?

That must have been a rough sales pitch at the initial investors meeting....

So I'm thinking of starting a company. This company sole purpose is to screw over pilots. Profits be damned, if there is one pilot left unscrewed then we have failed. Who's coming with me?

All jokes aside, this place does do some strange things. Most of the time if you dig into it a little you will find there is more to the stories. Sometime when you dig you just find more strange. I feel like this end of the operation is doing a little better now.

Word has it their telling new hire classes there are only 30-40 guys eligible for upgrade and that upgrade is running 3-4 months. Any traction to this? No intentions of going there but found it interesting. I call bs.

Considering the FAA requires 1000hrs of 121 time. I find it highly unlikely

no way is upgrade 3-4 months. people that have been there for a couple years are still FOs.

Plan on 2 years unless the company gets additional flying.

Are they attracting enough warm bodies to keep their flying staffed given current attrition?

Of course. They are just like any other regional; granted they aren't the BEST, but I doubt they are the worst. Every dog has fleas...some have a lot, some not so much. This industry in general leaves a lot to be desired unless you've got a sweet 91 gig or you're a 20 year captain at SWA. Regional is just.... meh.
