I think it's a little longer than that, maybe closer to 13. With new hires in the pipeline though that's likely to drop but I don't see that dropping below 11-12 anytime in the near future. I would imagine a new hire will be spending quite a bit of time on RSV.

LBCliving30 11-03-2013 04:03 PM

While on reserve at G7 are you breaking guarantee? Avereage Hrs?

Not even close. 0-20 hours a month. Brutal schedule. If you commute you will be doing it on your day off on both ends.

workingforfree 11-03-2013 05:36 PM

If you are need a regional job to build time (same as the other places) ...... jump on in.... since it's a smaller company, upgrades will be quick when people leave (and they are going to SW, DL, UA etc) ....

It will not hurt or has it ever hurt anyones career.

I know some people do not like to hear this, but it is true. Just get your time and move on with a smile... you'll be fine.

8hourrule 11-03-2013 05:36 PM

GoJet updates

In STL we have more FOs sitting reserve, on any given day, than we have flights. Still getting min days off. Still unable to trade days with ourselves.

cubanfiredawg 11-07-2013 07:16 PM

Anyone else starting Monday?

I know for a fact this is not true.

When it comes to G7 (especially in today's hiring climate), just say:

My 2 furlough letters from Tsa disagree with you.

We've had quite a bit of attrition lately.

You don't know what you're talking about.

Yeah that's cause nobody wants to work there. The smart people just quit

No. They've been getting other jobs and moving on.

To quit a job without having another one lined up isn't exactly a smart choice.

And I like working at GoJet. It works for me. The people are great.

bernouli,
Why do you try so hard to defend the place? Do you feel like if you say enough good things, history will change? You have to see what the general consensus is of gojets. I'm starting to feel bad for you...you put in so much energy but it's not really working.

Its funny because I can hear the pain in your voice when you say that. Its all fun and games until payday comes...

D-Rod money!

JohnnyG 11-08-2013 04:29 PM

If a guy likes where he works, why step on him for that?

A lot of people have to take a bite of a less-than-desirable sandwich, but the true professionals are the ones uplifting their peers. I get jumped on a lot here, and I don't care.

Attitude isn't everything, but it's part of a skillset and part of putting your game face on. I'll fly with a guy who flies the company flag in the face of negativity all day long. No matter how low your pay is, anywhere you work you should be a company man.

JohnnyG 11-08-2013 04:31 PM

BTW,

My friends at Gojet are great guys, and they like their coworkers and are generally content there.

Who cares about history? History is exactly that. Stop living in the past.

We must pay attention to history and learn from it, as if not we are likely to make the same mistakes again.

While partially true circumstances and conditions change over time. I just think it's silly people still hold grudges about something that happened around 10 years ago.

Check, oh, ANY other g7 thread. Someone usually posts the paper explaining the creation of gojets about once a thread. Not hard to find.

TallFlyer 11-11-2013 04:06 AM

Got an interview offer from them yesterday. They said upgrade would be 18 months.

Pilot Sharp 11-11-2013 05:26 AM

Yea, I got the same email interview offer. Interviews at IAH 15 Nov and in St. Louis 19,20,21 nov as well as dec 4,5,11,12. The email said not hiring street captains, and that upgrade times were around 18 months.

From the numbers I been seeing on guys getting hired on with other airlines this is true . Small group movement is fast only 86 FO's in ORD and less at STL and RDU

chrisreedrules 11-11-2013 06:54 AM

I wouldn't count on that 18 month upgrade... My friends there say it will be longer. You need 1,000 hours in 121 pax ops before you are even legal to act as CA and depending on where you go you may not even have that by 18 months.

What are the minimum flight time requirements for Captain upgrade:

TT
Multi
TPIC
Other

sevenforseven 11-11-2013 08:40 AM

What are your trip sequences like GJ guys? How many legs a day do you typically fly? What kind of rest do you get (if any) behind the door between days?

Would love some information on this.

4,500TT (plus a 2-1 credit for G7 time)
Can be reduced to 3,500TT with the 2-1 credit)
1,000 turbine

I think that's it. Feel free to correct me if I forgot anything.

The trips at G7 are changing drastically because of FAR 117 ( so is every other regional.)

The trips are a good mix of 1-4 day trips. Commutability of trips depends on the base, and of course, where you commute from. I can't speak for ORD, but RDU/ STL trips tend to be uncommutable on at least one side of the trip.

I'd say the average days off for line holders in 13-17 depending on your credit hours. Again, this will most likely change in Jan, but fairly accurate for now.

I hope this helps.

Yes it does, thanks!

More than likely I'd be commuting DFW - ORD.
