Any GoJet pilots commute from Detroit Metro to any of the bases, just trying to find out what would be the most advantageous base, also what's the situation regarding crash pads at any of the three bases? Thanks guys

Thanks guys, sounds like ORD would be the best place of the three bases to have, but I'm sure that probably goes senior. Next best would be STL, this is all planning for now of course, interviewing in three weeks :-)

Seniority at G7 is a weird thing. You can pretty much get anywhere you want after a month. You can bid for a base every month as there is no restriction and if there is an opening you will get it. Best thing to do is find out what will be the easiest commute for you and stick with it.
So true haa haa I bid for different bases every month and got them right away . So I been to all 3 |
What would be the best base out of training for someone like me who's going to be coming from the west coast in the beginning? So far I'm planning on ORD. My story is, I have a girlfriend whom I've been with a while, and is willing to move with. So no matter where I end up will not be an issue, just the beginning while on reserve.

Any ideas on upgrade time at GoJet provided you meet the requirements posted on the website for captain positions?

GoJet updates
I would say a year just a little over.
|
I think the days of quick upgrades at G7 are over. There are some 40 guys on the upgrade list right now and unless there is any new flying I think upgrades will run at least 2+ years.

Unless you are making a lateral move it will take longer than a year for someone to upgrade to new ATP regs.

Maybe you guys will start training pilots from other airlines, becoming a 142 center and then your instructors will need their instructor ratings. An ATP pilot can teach in 121 without instructor ratings.

We don't even do systems in house it's all flight safety . I do have to say the training at eagle was a ass kicking but it was worth it . Made flight safety a cake walk lol |
Any word on how many showed up for class today?

It's shorter than most since they don't have to teach you about jumpseating. |

I haven't once had an issue with jumpseating. I always politely ask if I could please have a ride and people say yes. Perhaps you wouldn't let a G7 guy on your Jumpseat, but that's between you and your CP (who is one hell of a good guy) Also, lets grab a beer sometime. I can't imagine a DWC grad sober at 2:40pm on a friday Pilotguy143 |
