Dare I say it, But I think we agree on a very basic point. No one will stand up for anything in the Regional Airline Space. It's a shame to be sure-- but it's the way it is on a basic level

It is, and has always been, every man for himself at the regionals. The only exception was Comair and their strike of 2001. Look at Pinnacle's latest concessionary contract they voted in to save their jobs.

Eagle's new TA is still loads better than 9E. And, Eagle got "guaranteed" jobs for everyone on property as of Oct 2011 at American, not just some SSP interview program. Eagle is well ahead of 9E in terms of pay/QOL package.

Ha lol I was in the last class at eagle that had this so called job at AA . AA would have to hire at least 8000new hires before I even have a chance to flow that's like 10 to 12 years to replace that many pilots if eagle is still around since the new contract is only good for 8 years and still no fleet plan anoucement yet . |
the maybe job at aa was what made the 75% spineless pilots at eagle vote yes. revenge is best when served cold. these pilots will get the chills from management as it has started, lax gone, ord going, dfw started to go all to other regionals for aa feed. pay cuts coming and some already getting them off this displacement bid which just happened. PBS is coming rammed down our throats by the union. the mec leaderships are leaving and getting requaled on there aircraft as we speak they are in long term ground school. aircraft being retired and no replacements. aa merged and the bull shi + has not even started with that yet for the repercussions to eagle crews.
yeah, your right shyguy, to bad dejavu has a better understanding than you of how it will play out. oh by the way, when they will need to furlough contract or no contract pilots will be furloughed from eagle. the start date will be December 2015, shyguy think you will make it to aa before that. |

That future isn't any less bleak than 9E's. At least Eagle guys can go to AA without interviewing. 9E's deal is they have to interview, so it's still a chance. As for fleet plan, you are right Eagle doesn't have one. 9E does, and it involves going from ~180 planes down to 81.
Eagles 230 planes may just fallow the same . Parked ATR's now 135's 140's what next ? Lol I don't even know why we are even talking about this , retared like we decide what planes to get . Or who "better" ? Sounds like and feels like kindergarten crap Anyways back on topic . Did anyone get a call ? |

Just FYI, interviewed a couple of months back and got an offer yesterday for a 9/11/13 (!!!) class. Doubt I'll be able to take it, as it sounds like the days of street C/A or very rapid upgrade are over, but good news for someone, I'm sure.
|
I'm glad we are starting to restart hiring. Good news for those who need jobs!

Nope. I got the call too for a 9/11 start. It's a Wednesday too. So there is NO REASON and NO EXCUSE for it. That's one sign in its self to not go! I don't want 9/11 on my badge!
Why is it mid week? Ive never heard of this. It's always been 7am on a Monday for me! |
In the past, it has always been the first Monday of the month. Not sure about the reason for the change.

Class of 10 in August.

Ok, I'm seriously not trolling on this one. I have to ask. In this current climate why would ANYONE go to G7? Pretty much all regionals are hiring, so if you want that STL or ORD base, there are choices with better contracts/pay/QOL and no stigma. Their pay and work rules are pretty much the bottom of the barrel. Why would you go there over anywhere else????

Because it's every man for HIMSELF. We're all scrambling over each other to claw our way to the top of seniority lists no matter who we hurt or what values we reject in the process. G? bypassed a lot of senior TSA pilots so that younger ones who just couldn't wait could step on them on their way to the top. A lot of guys don't get it, they think it's one airline undercutting another...not true, it was an IN HOUSE gutting. I know this is a generalization, but it was junior pilots finding a way to step over the guys who stuck it out and it also allowed the 'new' company to pay lower wages for another contract period. It's good that it gave furloughed United pilots a place to go, but once they leave do you think they really care about who they left behind? They blame the regionals for their furloughs...
I mean more about guys NOW. I understand that the original d-bags were in it to score a windfall for themselves regardless of who they hosed in the process... But now guys are signing on to the bottom of a list at an airline that's worse than any of the competitors... I mean, there's (as far as I can tell) no upside, yet people are still doing it... I honestly want to know what those people are thinking. |

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. I worked at Comair for 6 years. We were what most would consider a "top notch" regional. If that is even a thing..... After watching all of my "pears" flying around CA tail numbers I started to think. We are contractors at the regional level. Our companies bid on flying and whoever is lowest wins. Why on earth would I go to a regional that has no chance of winning any new flying. I tried to do it "right" the first time. If I tried it again that would make me insane.

Think of it this way. You are playing a video game. You are on level 6. It was super hard to get that far. Your friends come over and think that it would be a good idea to pull the plug on your game before you have a chance to save it. You have a choice. Plug it back in and start all over or look online for a code that will restore your levels. Who here is playing all 6 levels again?
