It’s quite logical to celebrate oneself in public when others have been and are currently often unable to be themselves in public. If nothing else, pride celebrations let people know that the intrinsic aspects of themselves that solicit bad reactions from others don’t need to be hidden.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The fact that there are people (coworkers) who describe pride-related celebrations as “hostile and repulsive” is exactly why we need them.

As was said before people can have their opinions. I also don't think walking around in drag or half nude will get rid of the idea that they are "hostile and repulsive". Also there is no need for them in my opinion, they do nothing.

It doesn’t matter what you think, other than it’s quite literally the reason it’s important to keep celebrating

There’s a time and place, and this sure isn’t the time and place for it.

What if the opposite side of the spectrum was true? What if UAL decided they were going to hold church service in the middle of the terminal and make it loud and in the way and unavoidable to anyone walking by? Does that sound like a good idea to you?
Get the point?
Seriously, learn to think critically.

People really don't understand the Constitution. United is allowed to say whatever they want. The terminal is a public area, so this was not done at "work" (as if that matters). United does not need approval from its employees for any of its marketing (and that's what this is). If United wanted, they could run a public service ad promoting pride before every safety video. As far as the law is concerned, if you don't like it, quit.
This is not a constitutional matter. There are 330 million people in the country, so odds someone will always find something offensive. United thinks that the drag show did more good to their brand than bad. Only time will tell.

Judging by the amount of corporate sponsorship pride parades generate, I think the market has spoken.
