"If you fly, you fly" followed by hand hovering is just like the "I'm pretty laid back..."

It is super annoying and I get pleasure out of waiting to configure so that those guys have to sit there with their hand hovering over the flap lever.

TOTD: "Whatever you want" instead of "thanks, I forgot" as a response to my reminder to add something required to the performance ACARS like a tailwind, or full thrust due to windshear, or wet runway, or anti ice on...

If their hand is in the flaps, I call for gear.
If their hand is on the gear, I call for flaps.

It’s a matter of principle.

I usta swab everything down with alcohol swabs and then put kleenex around my collar and then a small towel on the glare shield. They knew for sure it would be a relaxed trip.

Then a hand sanitizer treatment seconds after shaking hands.

This bugs the crap out of me. I make sure I wait as long as safely possible with their hand there to call for them.

pretty sure I am not going to convince anyone but:

I put my hand behind the flap lever on the pedestal, so I am ready when he asks for 'm, I don't hover, and never the gear lever, did the same while I was the FO. If I say "I think you need the flaps/gear" it is because we are well within "my controls/ga-around territory". 20 years, roughly half FO, half PIC, really don't think I have a lot of people who wouldn't fly with me.
