One of my buddy received invitations last week.
I heard over 2000 applied for about 30 slots.

I would think next application window open by Alaska will have more slots.
do you know how many interviews they are conducting?

Do Hawaiian pilots get priority when non reving on Alaska (and vice versa), or still treated as OAL?

I non-revved on HA not long ago from LAS to HNL, where I was connecting to catch a freighter to HKG (I used to fly WBs there in a previous life). It was a long day, so I was really hoping for either a decent seat or, ideally, a bunk. I even brought them chocolates—but the crew showed zero love whatsoever.

Yes, we are considered OAL until then company compeltas the very last step on their end

spam musubi would have been a better offering… next time stop off at L&L Hawaiian BBQ before heading to the airport.

considered OAL, but are put at the top of the OAL non revs. Flight/cabin crew don’t get much say in where non revs get assigned seats. OAL employees are not allowed in the bunks.

Unfortunately we have no control of non rev seating. Jumpseating gets you lower boarding priority but maybe better treatment from the crew. Bunks on the 330 are for seniority list pilots only. Bunks on the 787 are available for jumpseaters who are actually in the jumpseat.

Are there generally decent breaks given throughout training or should I plan to be in HNL (or overseas for some fleets sims) for 3-4 months straight? I’m trying to work out if I should vacate my apartment at home and ship everything over for the first day of Indoc, or if it’s safe to assume I’ll have time to get home throughout the first few months and move things over gradually.

Training is generally a firehouse with maybe 2-4 days max off between 2-4 sim/training sessions. Usually you’ll have at least a week break between your check ride and ioe. But why pay for two places?
