If any one is wondering, the job has been a blast.. many of the normalcies at Hawaiian would be typical senior stuff at other Legacies.... (schedule, equipment, time on reserve etc)

So far:D

the Airbus NEO order is certainly interesting and the projection of 1000 pilots by 2017 very promising... .lets hope this holds.

Yeah, having gone through the "you'll be a Captain making $180-$200K within X number of years" before (at another company), I am patiently holding my breath hoping no shoes drop..... All I really wanted out of Hawaiian was to be in the top 80% ASAP...Although 1000 pilots and around 50% on the list in 5 years would be welcome:)

looks like you and I are much in the same boat, and have similar backgrounds.... I too have been thru the koolaid once too many times to get to wound up, but this is about as promising a situation as I can expect to be in considering the state of the industry.

what are the odds that they will open another mainland base?

Again, from a newbie, but from what I've heard is an additional mainland base is not a real likelihood.... most likely I've heard closing the SEA base (767 training facilities located there etc) and possibly opening a Bay area base due to the 3 airports and amount of flying done to those 3..... I've had SEA based guys tell me they don't plan on ending their careers based in SEA.......

I'm new so just going by what I've heard at sim and/or conversations I've overheard..

Then again, forming my own opinion, I'd say "if" Hawaiian uses those A350's to do Europe flights AND if Hawaiian does more East coast destinations..then anything could be possible??....

yeah I agree.. Other than being smarter and applying in 2010 or 2011 like I should have, I feel that I/we are in a pretty darn good position at the moment....

Class scheduled that he knows of.

I'd say the pool is big enough:rolleyes:..... Hopefully classes resume sooner rather than later...

We signed off on our LOA for payrates for the A321NEO..That hopefully will open the floodgates in a couple of years... From what I've heard, 1000 pilots is the target. That means almost 400 to go before retirements (roughly 65?? mandatory over the next 5 years....)

They are scheduled to arrive in 2017 give or take.. So that might make 2016 a good year for hiring... Plus the A330 is scheduled to keep arriving for the next couple years...

I think they still have a few 767 slots to go?
