Take it for what it is. Commuting is hard in general, but I'm certain you'll enjoy your time here, once you hold a line.

We have an updated commuter clause in our new CBA that's addresses missing assignments due to a missed commute. Also you have higher nonrev priority, for what it's worth. List within 48 hours on two AAG flights and you "shall not" be disciplined."

Thanks for the valuable info! Any advice on which aircraft is better i.e. Overnights close to home?

SEA FO seniority? Commute from DEN?
I have an interview with Horizon this week. I must live in Colorado through 2018 due to family obligations. I expect I'll get the Q400, but am more concerned with domicile due to my commute.
How likely am I to get SEA right out of FO training? PDX?
Any hotel allowances in the new commuting policy?
Your recommendations are welcome.

You all know the routes and schedules- what would be best for me and my family while we're in Colorado?

ANC has never made much sense the way we operated it.
When ANC was first opening, there was all this talk about all the flying QX would do in southeast Alaska, which would have made sense for the Q400, and was based on the 737-400's and Combi's being parked in 2014-15.
Once the Alaska/Delta genital-waving contest began, Alaska hung on to the older 737's far longer than expected, so QX never expanded the base, and was stuck doing one main line of flying, with two seasonal destinations.
We also discovered that the Q400 had reliability issues up there (shocking!), and the super-elite frequent fliers in Alaska hated the Q, so it was really just a matter of time until someone decided to cut their losses and wind down the base.
