If we wait they’re not going to cut the pay rates. Come on man. You remember when mgmt brought up our pay scale from the bottom of their hearts and then slashed our profit sharing? Remember? They did it because they knew in the long run (today) it would be inevitable they’d have to pay us industry standard rates that kept projecting higher. They have no argument against the pays rates. Now profit sharing on the other hand, a mediator can go either way after the likes of DAL and AA.
And if some are afraid of this going another year then you really didn’t have the stones all along to strike if it came down to it. You’ve been bluffing all along

Very ballsy to turn down, what could be, industry standard work rules/scope and retirement for what may be only a few hundred more a paycheck.

And I have many questions about the scope and work rules so if I smell a rat, I have no reservations about NO.
Btw, If you're such an old soul when it comes to signing these contracts, why would you expect any details in the bulletpoint presentation?
Ive only signed 2 before, but any details in the initial release, required extensive explanation before they could be understood in totality. Was your experience different? Were bulletpoints even released, or did they go straight to T/A. Where was this extensive knowledge gained Mr Q?

Here's why... there is no legal framework limiting negotiations in their current form. BJ and ALPA *could* talk daily and have it all done in a week forgoing any mediator or anything like that. Similarly, there is no law that requires bulletpoint presentations to be put out. Even the existence of an AIP vs. a flat out contract for us to write in real-time is a totally artificial construct that everyone has accepted. It's not a requirement, just a tradition. ALPA could literally just throw everything at us and let us pencil in our 2 cents on a whiteboard. There are many means to accomplish the end. This 'extensive' knowledge was gained outside of aviation, in the rest of corporate America's industries'. My only point in mentioning this is simply to deconstruct preconceived notions that pilots have about how things must be in terms of negotiations. The existing legal framework is a MINIMUM requirement, not an explicit recipe for how it must be done. For example, the RLA does NOT stop us from Voting NO, then working at hyperspeed to make a better agreement. Don't believe me? Read the RLA -- look at the law. It's like comparing the FARs against the AIM. The AIM is not legally binding whereas the FARs are the law. So, nothing is stopping ALPA from re-initiating the picket at other public locations on a weekly basis in order to renegotiate more effectively. BJ is under external influence right now and it's a perfect synergy in the pilot's favor. Negotiations are not rocket science. There's no real knowledge to have in order to be a successful negotiator, you merely have to keep saying NO until you have to say YES because you fail to have the advantage. That's why BJ kept pushing this longer and longer... they had everything to gain and no reason to settle. Now we have everything to gain because they need this done quickly.

You're assuming it's just Pay. I literally have a list of over 100 other items which are not covered in bullet points. If any single ONE of my requirements is not met, then it will be rejected. For example, if "positive contact" is not explicitly defined (it currently isn't), then it's a NO. The bar is high because it's safer to say NO then to open a legal Pandora's Box for Joanna to screw us by. Remember, she has law training and is a master of exploiting it. A contract follows contract law and not some phony, smoke & mirrors PEA or company policy. This is for real. It has to be 100% right.

IF--IF the bulletpoints prove to be accurate, this will easily pass.
You are obviously a NO vote because nothing is 100%. It was never going to go that way. I trust the NC over the keyboard wizards here and on BP.
Btw feel free to call or text- if you care to discuss this realtime.
Pm sent Q. We'll see if you can do anything but type.

Good luck with the other 99. And perfection is an illusion Q.

I don't care to discuss anything to you in private that we can't discuss in public. If you have a logical argument, present it here.
I don't expect perfection, but I expect more than 55% on the test.

BOZO...sounds like Q might be another one of those cowards that can hide behind the keyboard and act tough while pounding his man B00BS rather than talk like men?

Oversimplification -- until we see it all 311. I think is commendable that you would wait another year for 3% COLA and 25 mill more in a signing bonus.
Very ballsy to turn down, what could be, industry standard work rules/scope and retirement for what may be only a few hundred more a paycheck.

HB, did I ever give you the impression that I cared about your opinions?
I'm not going to be maneuvered into taking a public discussion into private contexts simply because what I'm saying is so threatening to you and Bozo. So call me whatever you want. Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.
I will continue to use my free speech, regardless of what you think. I have actual standards and I'm not going to roll over in desperation for sloppy seconds like you are advocating.
Remember that BJ pilots have been *wrong* every single time. It even took you guys THREE chances to get ALPA in. Do you think there's a possibility that you are wrong again?

The AIP talking points come from our NC that’s been working for us over the last 3 1/2 years. Of course you can’t just say a blind YES and not read the TA, but you also can’t poke your head out of the sand and say “What, no 330 payscale? NOOOOO!” Head back in sand.
The talking points frame up what looks to be a fair deal. Let’s see what backs that up, but saying you’re not voting YES because the company henchman are already waiting to deliver E2’s and oh yeah we need $200mil in signing bonus cash is nonsense.
