The number I always heard for 2019 was 400ish. If current class sizes continue looks like it will be a little short of that number. Still looking at adding 10% to he seniority list this year.

500+ numbers have been touted for 2020 and forward. Seems unlikely unless new sims come online early in the year.

American Airlines might be the only place someone in their thirties would see the left seat of a wide-body, but they hire very little off the street.

2026 and beyond is obviously far away, so it’s more of wild guess.

Don’t disagree with you, except to say that AA isn’t the only place someone in their 30’s would see left seat of a wide body. At FedEx, the junior widebody CA award is currently 4.5 yrs (MEM A300), and it is falling, as is everything else here (due retirements and growth).

That is a MULTI-MILLION dollar career. Amazing.

JB just hired 10 pilots though!

I count 11 who started yesterday. 6 E190, 5 A320. One of the E190 gals is hired as an instructor, but should still be on the seniority list. After a couple retirements in the last few days (one 5 years early), and one June hire quitting a few days ago, this class puts 4,005 pilots on the list. So far that's 321 hired this year. The propaganda machine at OSC recently advertised 430 this year, 580 next year, and 3k over the next 5 years. I definitely don't believe the last figure, but I do think 430 is doable this year. I also don't think 580 is out of the question for next year.

As for sims, 2 are coming in April (one 320 and one 220). At least according to the propaganda machine at OSC.

Good news is ALWAYS around the corner at BlueJet.

One problem ... which one? There is an unlimited number of corners (hope) in a city.

Being "hopeful" many will defend as a strength. It is in your personal life with family and friends. However, in certain places, it is is a weakness.

Depressing? Not even close. You just have to understand the opponent and the tools they use so that the group becomes immune.

If you don't understand that then ...

Welcome into the bucket! Keep swimming!

In the meantime, I heard someone just found a newish sim and classes somewhere will be ramping up very soon.

Damn I like to complain with the best of you but we are gonna hit 400+ this year.

Over 10% growth on the list and we only took a few airplanes....

Not seeing the downside on this one
