Agree with all. The London trips are likely to be 16 hour 3-days, so more like 6 times a month......... At least it will be a nice highway-side motel six next to Gatwick airport.

I know pricing is different for every carrier, but does anyone have any insight as to what the price difference could be between the LR and XLR? It makes sense to me to convert every LR order to XLR to give flexibility for future route growth. Are they removing seats or payload to accommodate the extra fuel or something? Looking for some education. Thanks.

Boeing is already throwing together a training package for us.

No idea on the price difference...as actual prices paid are never really disclosed. JetBlue’s LRs (and LON) begin in 2021. XLR EIS isn’t until 2023...that is (I believe) why JB is keeping the LR order. Should still be good for LON in the winter. And the LR can also go north/south ok and be of use.

Differences:
Has a permanent rear center tank for more fuel; this holds more fuel than several optional additional center tanks previously did, while taking up less space in the cargo hold, making more space for baggage and cargo
Has a modified landing gear for an increased maximum takeoff weight of 101 metric tons
Has an optimized wing trailing-edge flap configuration to preserve the same takeoff performance and engine thrust requirements as today’s A321neo

The 10 A220s are growth, unless they coincide with old A320 retirements.

Good news yes, but keep it all in perspective.
And don't forget, the XLR won't debut until 2023, and we are far from first in the chute. Wouldn't it be more likely for us to get our first XLR 2024 or after?

I think you are right. Only thing I can think of is the LR will be ready to go in 2021 and the XLR not until 2023....

JB’s orders are conversions. Those production slots/delivery dates already exist. The LRs start in 2021 and XLRs in 2023...JB doesn’t lose its original delivery dates just because the order got converted to the XLR (so long as the XLR has been tested/approved and there are no production delays, of course).

13 XLRs, that's 6 daily round-trips plus 1 spare. My guess. Same with 13 LRs.

Wow. I guess I'm eating my hat.

Good news as the 10 extra A220-300s are actually new hulls not replacements.
