Hello guys.
A few questions to have a better idea of what to expect moving forward for someone very interested in joining JB but also living in Texas facing a two-leg commute either way.
Which bases/equipment are new hires getting lately?
Which of the above should I bid for to make the two leg commute from TX more bearable?
Average trip pairing length in junior bases?
Schedule flexibility?
Training pay/benefits, footprint, tips?
Travel benefits and when do they kick in?
Pros and cons of working at JB?
I know everything’s very fluid right now, but just want to have a better idea for planning.
Your responses are greatly appreciated.

after 20+ years in this business and a commuter for 12 of those, apply someplace you won’t have a two leg commute. That’s gonna be miserable.

The best advice I can give you is to get a CP meet n greet with DAL. Sure, take the B6 class but wake up each day trying to move to the real NY airline: DELTA.
I dont mean to discourage you, but this is the big picture. B6 hates it's pilot group and will always attempt to run understaffed leaving you with little schedule flexibility.
Welcome to B6, but I hope you get the opportunity to leave.

I’ve been here 5 yrs and I live in base and I’m content. As you should already know every airline has their problems American Ual delta look on their forums.. someone is always complaining about something. But instead of discouraging candidates from coming here why don’t you leave …I say this respectfully!

I wouldn’t be surprised to see an uptick in the 4-8 year pilots here.

Until the next recession/black swan event and everyone here is questioning the move just like two years ago. Round and round we go. I mean everyone should do what they think is best, but 6-8 years in and still tidying up the logbook is a little bit behind the power curve depending on how quick you can get your stuff together and get an interview. IMO.
