I’m not sure if you were referring to me but I never said it was driving attrition. It’s driving the system disruptions by scheduling pilots at max duty when we don’t run on time. Pilots and FA’s are timing out and fatiguing because of the pairing construction. We don’t run well enough to schedule crews like this.

Getting up at 4am and rushing to the airport only to find out your plane was handed over for another flight… your new plane doesn’t land until 8:30 and your whole day is delayed three hours. But it’s okay - your report time was 5:05am so there’s no circadian issues.

Until the next recession/black swan event and everyone here is questioning the move just like two years ago. Round and round we go. I mean everyone should do what they think is best, but 6-8 years in and still tidying up the logbook is a little bit behind the power curve depending on how quick you can get your stuff together and get an interview. IMO.
True.
But I have never seen our ops so messed up. Yes we had irops but not everyday. Add that with poor management a lack of direction the constant BS and with the big guys hiring fast and rapid movement (for now) it can change the game. Actually JetBlue is lucky there is a seniority system otherwise I think we would all be gone.
I would love nothing more than JetBlue getting it’s crap together and going back to being a good airline. I don’t care about big planes I’m fine with what I got. But I do care about how leadership is running things and the changing attitudes among the employees.

wonder if jetblue is actually a good career move long term. Commuting to a legacy doesn’t sound appetizing, but maybe it’s a no-brainer now?

I’m hoping it’s ebb and flow. They can’t operate like this forever. The pilots (and FAs for that matter) have had enough.

Just got a legacy CJO. Who knows what the right call is? JB, however, has given me zero reason to believe staying is the best move.

But if we leave, we’ll get lumped into the “they just wanted to go fly widebodies” management excuse, and they’ll continue to be out of touch with the true reason they have a problem keeping pilots.

I left after 4 1/2 years, no regrets at all! I’m super happy with my decision and change! Already in training for my second type fleet wide body! Fwiw!

I understand the equipment bid in initial class may have 320 and 320SQ as separate bids. Not knowing anything about JBU crew/equipment rules, I wonder whether 320SQ pilots fly only to and from London, or whether they have a mix of London and domestic.
What are the pros and cons of 320SQ, if it is available to bid for. Do regular 320 FOs have better opportunities to pick up extra flying? Do 320SQ FOs get more days off?

Their lines do not include anything else.
RSV SQ pilots can be assigned any pairing. So you’re on the hook for more flying than anyone else. And you aren’t paid anything more for that privilege.
SQ doesn’t have any more days off. The trips are almost exclusively three day pairings worth 15.5 hours (min credit). You can easily make more money flying to TPA and HPN.
The SQ flying seems to be understaffed and constantly in open time, often at premium.
But hey, you can fly to England for significantly less pay than all your peers!
There is a reason it’s so junior and offered to new hires.
