I’m very sorry you don’t think B6alpa represents you well. I hope you tell your reps this. They need that feedback.

most of all, I hope you think more of our pilot group and your peers and coworkers. It’s so easy to say no, and be frustrated on an internet message board….. much harder to say what you mean and what you are feeling in real life.

good luck to you.
Relax, it's gonna pass. What I and many others are concerned about now that this ship has sailed, is what's to stop you and the others (and the NC/MEC/LEC and Spirit pilots) from making the same arguments in JCBA why "we can't get profit sharing" or "they said no" or "I'd rather have guaranteed compensation" or "the company isn't profitable, so it doesn't matter" or "we'll get'um NEXT time"?

Honestly? Why should we believe you guys will demand FULL parity NEXT time?

I’m just a line pilot trying to breakup the groupthink. But it seems like the MEC/NC really let you down. You should tell them.
My survey was clear, and they've already voted it through.

At this point I'm worried about the next negotiations (JCBA) and want to know why YOUR expectations and actions (and those like you) will be different next time?

that’s fair. I’ll go on record and be clear. I will vote no on any JBCA that doesn’t have clear and easy to understand profit sharing. It needs to have easily defined triggers and be set up similarly to Deltas PS.

but I’m voting yes on this.

Frontier (and spirit for that matter) are not included in the jetblue peer group. DL/UA/AA/WN/AS are the established and agreed upon peer set with regards to the snap up. So, B6 will be 6 out of 6 in their peer set for compensation at a time where they can’t attract and retain enough pilots. And, by my estimate, 80% of B6 pilots will happily vote to be last in their peer set. They were happy to sell scope for 3%, so I guess it’s not a surprise though.

I mean, I voted no for that 3% nonsense. But you’re gonna believe what you believe, which is fine. What people really need to do (myself included) is put aside the emotional reaction to crap on the internet, make yourself a nice little excel spreadsheet, and do the math. Vote according to that; not this APC BS.

Its just facts. Our two groups routinely vote in terrible CBAs and LOAs. Many people here seem to think that because NK walked once upon a time they will save us, but they forget that it wasnt an industry leading CBA that ended the strike, but a bottom tier one. No company wants to pay their pilots more, not DAL, UAL Fedex etc... They do it because their respectuve pilot groups wont accept less. Period.

If this AIP was presented to the UAL group, MEC heads would roll. THAT is why they make more.

What will your spreadsheet show? These rates are lower than Alaska plus their bonus. And far below welts plus their ps. And below AA/UA since they will be roughly equal to delta. Unknown about SWA but nothing less than big 3 NB will fly there imo. So. If you’re ok being in last place amongst your peer set, enjoy your yes vote and last place participation trophy. I’d much rather hold a sign in the freezing cold and fight for something that isn’t solidly last place.

In all seriousness…. I made $14K PS on $150K income here before they rewrote the formula. So why can’t we earn approximately $40K PS on $400K income now? WN has a cap on their PS on roughly $250K income, which most years got them right around $38K PS checks. Nobody here is delusional to think we will end up with with $70K checks like some at DL have over the years. But for the record almost every narrow body captain at those airlines got $40K checks. There’s nothing far fetched about it. Just using linear math from the old formula $40K would be very realistic earning $400K. A lot of people here don’t know the history of the profit sharing here so it’s hard to be upset about it. My checks went from $14K to $6K to $400 as my income went from $150K to $180K and $200K. I think PS is a great way to get the group to actually be motivated to save cost and be more operationally efficient for them. AS and AA got PS now….Add them to DL and WN and that leaves us and NK and as the only 2 airlines with none? I would like to see our old (and very responsible) profit sharing returned. We’re not asking for industry leading PS. I think you, I and the whole pilot group is worth that investment. I don’t think we work less than our peers that have similar rates and actual PS.
