Default Transferring to FLL base

Hello,

Pilot wife here hijacking my husband's account to ask you all a question.

We live in Naples, FL and my husband joined JetBlue in October and is commuting to/based in JFK on the 320. Our end goal is to be based out of FLL so his drive will only be 1.5 hours.

How long realistically until he can transfer to the FLL base? And while I'm here, how long of these reserve rosters?

Thanks!

Once the yellow planes become blue he will be able to join us in FLL right away!

Foreeeevvveerrrr. Also if you’re thinking of MCO as an option forget that one too. He won’t be in FLL in less than 2 years. Then a few more of Reserve. If he’s young I suggest going to AA. If he wants to stay then keep expectations low. Staying in JFK or BOS bass you will have him on weekends sooner than later with a decent line. Any bass outside of those two is a nightmare.

After the merger is complete, this won't be true anymore (FLL and MCO being crazy senior). That said, the completed merger is at least 3-4 years out.

He can always attempt a base trade each month. Stranger things have happened. Keep in mind that each time an E190 base closes, there will be a displacement bid which will shuffle the deck again, making the base trade go away.

I live in Naples and commute over to FLL. Super easy commute/drive. Short call reserve is doable, but somewhat stressful as you have to be ready to go ASAP. Would take SCR sitting at home in Naples over commuting up to JFK any day of the week though. LCR is great once you can hold it.

I would think he could get an FLL award by this year. Most junior FLL pilot currently is a 11/21 hire. By the end of the year on the last bid window, the most junior FLL pilot will be an 8/22 hire.

I second the if he is young he needs to go to AA.

I get the sarcasm, but anybody who would leave a major for Avelo needs serious help!
