He needs to remind us he knows everything. Now he is an expert in bankruptcy. Never mind the history of airlines that went bankrupt and merged such as (quick google search)
Key Airlines that Bankrupted and Merged (Post-2000s):
- US Airways: Filed for bankruptcy twice (2002, 2004) before merging with America West in 2005, and later merging with American Airlines in 2013.
- Continental Airlines: Bankrupted twice (1983, 1990) before eventually merging with United Airlines in 2010.
- Northwest Airlines: Filed for bankruptcy in 2005 and merged with Delta Air Lines in 2008.
- AirTran Airways: Acquired by Southwest Airlines in 2011 following financial pressure.
- American Airlines (AMR Corporation): Filed for Chapter 11 in 2011 and merged with US Airways in 2013.
- United Airlines (UAL Corp): Filed for bankruptcy in 2002, emerging in 2006 before merging with Continental.
Now I understand United isn’t on that list oh wait……
Right I guess BK never ever leads to a merger.

Well, a lot of people here seem to think United is secretly in cahoots with you all and wants to buy you.
I presume he's a United pilot explaining why that doesn't make sense.
If you really think B6 is in trouble, get out NOW! Don't wait for a hopeful merger. I waited too long at NK and lost tons of seniority where I am now as a result. If you think B6 will be fine (and I hope it will be), stay and enjoy your life. I would have some cash savings just in case the **** does hit the fan.

Thats scary but I agree with you. United has quietly stepped away if they were ever truly interested and management is going to gather whatever scraps remain. The main issue I see is the Frontier model is only financially viable if the costs are low. Add JetBlues costs, and bad management, and the combined 8% of the domestic market is hardly competitive or viable. For reference, the big 4 are roughly 16-17% of the domestic market with Alaska being the outlier at around 6%. There are suggestions the Spirit customer coming to either airline could raise the percentage somewhat but will it be enough?
When did that happen?

Reading people throwing around cliches like "BK will make us more attractive for a merger" or "BK will wipe out most of our debt" is just nonsense. All this was thrown around in regards to Spirit, none of it was true, and people on that forum didn't like it when I explained why Spirit wasn't going to be acquired by anybody.
And yet here we are.
And yet here we are.

Correct. That is what is fascinating about friendly. I try my best to know what I am talking about but this guy just comes on and tells you the exact opposite of what we know is true. Maybe he thinks none of us were around to watch it happen real time. I know I know we are JetBlue therefore the past for us is not in prologue. (But just for us)
