I stayed at the Fairfield near JFK, it has a military rate. There are numerous hotels that are closer, and many of the guys I was there with stayed near the HQ. There is not much near the Fairfield and I ate at the hotel restaurant.

With your early interview I would look at hotels that are closer.

This hotel is a couple blocks from the LSC ... a very short walk to/from the interview.

Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, New York City in Queens, NY
Crescent St Long Island City NY 1-855-873-6557

I also know of guys that stayed in Manhattan and took a short 15-20 min E-Train ride on the day of the interview. Others stayed at the hotels at/near JFK and took the train (~30-40 min) to the interview. Obviously lots of options for your own preference. Personally, I preferred as little travel on the interview day as possible so I stayed in Long Island City and walked the couple of blocks.

Best of luck on the interview. I echo most other's sentiments... the gouge was spot on and it was a relaxing interview experience overall.

Thanks,

I stayed at the Four Points and arrived the night prior (info below, from the interview packet). JFK or LGA....toss up. I think LGA is closer, but it's a dump. I recommend staying at one of the hotels within walking distance because you just never know what NY traffic will do to you and taking it out of the equation is just one less stressor.

Four Points by Sheraton Long Island City/Queensboro Bridge:
Address: 27-05 39th Avenue
Telephone: (718) 786-8500
Walking Directions: Head southwest on 27th St toward 40th Ave. The JetBlue side entrance on 27th St will be on your left. (about 10 minutes)

Stayed at the boutique Hotel Ravel just down the street - they have a free shuttle to the JetBlue Center for the interview. $107 a night. Sushi bar/nightclub on the roof. Not the suite at the Hilton but definitely not low end. Many restaurants deliver to the hotel so I stayed in for dinner. Wine bar in the lobby. I took the subway getting there and then four of us that interviewed split a cab back to JFK.

I second Hotel Ravel, nice people and if the Sushi bar is closed, there are many restaurants that deliver 24/7.

I had a 26 Feb interview and stayed at the :
Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, New York City in Queens, NY
Crescent St Long Island City NY 1-855-873-6557
I recommend it, rooms clean, gym, breakfast and a 2-5 minute walk to the interview.

Default 3/26 Class

I saw that 27 New Hires were projected for the class starting today, with 11 A320s and 16 E190s. Does anyone know if this is right and what the domicile breakdown was? Also, any word on a June - August break for new hire training? Thanks
