For people who are interviewing or who have interviewed recently, are you handwriting or typing the "Why JetBlue" 200 word essay?
I typed.
Also, what are people doing for flight time that isn't PIC (signed for/primarily responsible for the airplane) or SIC. Lets say I'm flying my friend's plane with him, and therefore he is responsible for the plane, but I am the sole manipulator and flying it and he's just riding along? It's in my logbook per the FARs, but I can't log it in this provided table since he could take over at any time. Another example...I flew a WW2 fighter for almost an hour. The guy in front was clearly in charge and the insurance covered only him as the PIC, but I flew it the entire time minus takeoff/landing. Do I just omit that time and have less total time on the application than is in my logbook? Another scenario would be when I was a 1800 hour guy getting a fixed wing instrument add on rating in a cessna. The 400 hour CFII is responsible for the aircraft and my instruction, although I am the only one touching the controls and flying it, and am rated in that category and class. FAA says log it as PIC time. But my interpretation is I can't log that time as anything per the JB table, and therefore it is not loggable time.
I don't care either way, I just don't want discrepancies between my logbook and what I am submitting to JB. When my logbooks say I have 3000 TT and this sheet of paper says I have 2800 TT, or whatever the difference is, do I just say the discrepancy is due to the difference in what JB calls for and what the FAA calls for?

I typed mine. I'll let the others answer the rest.

[QUOTE=seekingblue;2014863]Ok. Someone said handwritten at some point and I couldn't get the pdf to accept text in the box. But I can print that blank and set up a blank doc to type it in.

I used Google's pdf editor and it allowed me to add text boxes all over jetblue's pdf's for the interview. Whatever you do or use just make sure it is neat and clean. I would go with typing it out if you can manage it.

They don't pull that BS anymore. People with red ties weren't "asked to leave" when I interviewed in 2014. I guess I'll ask the HR team myself why they did this next time I work a recruiting event.
