This didn't happen in 2008 either. I interviewed with a red tie guy. Your attitude has to do with much more than what tie you wear.
he was asked why he wore a red tie to a "jetBLUE" interview. he said he wanted them to remember him.
YMMV. He ultimately quit and went back to corp flying. but had he stayed he'd be a 320 ca...
I said gutsy move mav! well played.
Talked to him. It wasn't a red tie. It was just not blue.

I didn't wear any blue a few years ago and got the job. Not once was asked what I was wearing. Pretty sure they don't care as long as you look presentable in a suit. Their time is more valuable than to be judging your choice of colors.

^^^ what he said. And this goes for any interview. Spend some money on your visa. get a suit that fits well. Something you've purchased in the last 30-60 days that your dad didn't wear and you didn't try to get laid in at prom. Iron your friggin shirt and put a shine on the shoes. Walk tall and carry in a good attitude. jetblue doesn't test your flying skills in the interview, but if you walk in looking like a disheveled slob, what do you think that says?
Play the part for a few hours then go back to being a slob at the bar
