They are separate issues, and if you do it as my first officer when we operated the jet I will courteously ask you to desist. Good luck if you call me out on my "humanity" on that.

Ha. You can decide to not clean if you want to, but you have no authority to tell the FO not to. You can make an argument about the relative merits pro and con, but if he wants to continue that's out of your control.

Thus the use of the word "ask".... There's other ways to skin that goose if they persist. Just wondering why guys are so eager to defy the request of your hard-working LEC/MEC, not to mention defying customer perception.

I'm just not sure why you think it's in your right to "ask" or worse if they persist. You're setting yourself up to have HR troubles if you start harassing your FOs over stupid things like that. It's hard to get fired here, unless you get tangled up in a harassment case.

FOM list of duties for CA/FO for example, then Pro Stans. Is this guy performing his walkaround in a timely manner? (If you're diving I guarantee I'm not doing your walkaround). Generally speaking, the guys who do it to impress the inflights by getting Hep C don't know how to use WSI, havent reviewed the notams... I can go on. Would rather not go that route, but I'm pretty much done with guys degrading the profession for their own selfish reasons.

Check the FOM and FCOM for my right to ask. After that it's probably a Pro Stans call since the guys that insist on this usually are missing some other part of their required duties. Leading edge itself has quantified what the pax think of pilots cleaning.

Especially if the person with the phobia is a good looking girl. I believe that is actually recommended by both the FOM and ALPA.

Losing battle buddy. Mind your own business. You don't want to do it, fine. I clean when I want to, and don't when I don't. But I darn sure would clean every leg if I were flying with a guy like you, just to pee in your corn flakes. Some of you need to tone down the ego.

Go ahead. Call away. You call pro stands, and your FO calls HR to file a harassment case. Good luck extricating yourself from that morass.
