If you're senior to me, you should definitely go to UAL, but if you're junior to me I'd stay put right here!!

If you live in a JetBlue base and are happy, stay put, but if you're commuting either way, then I'd go to UA. No brainier. Can't ignore their pay, benefits, retirements, movement, growth, variety of equipment/flying.

I heard the same thing on the jb side, deal was done Thursday. Who knows???

But if that wasn't a factor then I'd stick with JB if you have been here a few years. Your career progression here will depend on growth, and at UAL it will depend on retirements. I think the retirement age will change soon, and that will stagnate everything at the legacies.

But that from the point of view from someone who has no plans to leave JB. Go ask some of the guys in the United forum and see what they have to say.
You say above that you'd go if you live in a Ual hub and then say you do, but at the end say you have no plans to leave jb. So which way is it?

There are hundreds of Socal / NorCal living JB pilots waiting to get home based and a lot of them are very senior. There could be a lot of VA displacements depending on SLI if this actually happens. I'm still not convinced this is happening, if the announcement comes I will be more interested.

I live in the BOS area. UA doesn't have a base in BOS. Therefore, I am not leaving for UA.

Rant alert

Why isn't seniority taken into account when reserve periods are assigned? I bid am reserve, without rest requirements/restrictions from the day before, and I get 1700 reserve period while a junior guy in the same bucket gets 0800, and I get a comment from CS that "no am reserve available". Waving the BS flag on that ... The senior guy should be able to bid to avoid the crappy DR double red eye trips over the new guy. This happened last week too.

Rant over

Made that call many times during my time on reserve..."oh, that's a different bucket"...funny the word "bucket" doesn't come up once in the FSM..... Was told once on the phone: "your on reserve, your seniority means nothing" from a scheduler
