I was publicly disappointed with many aspects, and I spent time discussing the problems with it. But ultimately I felt we gave up the strategic high ground in the battle/war when we agreed to the TA when we did. Things were just STARTING to go in the pilots favor and summer was just about to start....
But they did, so I had to vote considering what was in front of me and consider where and when our leverage might return. And the things I didn't like about the CBA were not always the things others didn't like, so there was no guarantee my concerns would be addressed with a NO vote anyway.

gotcha. I was a yes vote on the TA from the beginning and was public about it

that's actually a decent argument. And while the scope section is changing in the LOA (should it pass) it is still robust. Hell, this section 1 is still 1000% more robust than AA has, even assuming this passes. And we can still say no *but down the road*.
The world is not ending.

We are not AA. “Still better than crap” is a poor argument esp when it comes to weakening a position.

With this TA we aren't really getting anything and we are giving up a lot. The Northeast Alliance Agreement with American is already a done deal. The Union already signed off on it. Any additional flying generated by that is already coming our way even if we vote this down. This is just giving our current management and our future management flexibility in who does what flying. With the TA "JB instead of flying MCO to BOS you are flying from TPA to LGA and American will cover the MCO to BOS". Without the TA "JB you are going to fly TPA to LGA and because of your scope language you are also going to cover MCO to BOS."
I personally don't care about flying across the pond but guys senior to me do so that makes me care. TA or no TA we are flying to London. This TA will limit the number of destinations we fly too besides London. Those guys want to go to Dublin, Amsterdam, Paris, etc. but that's not going to happen if this TA passes.
Another thing that is indicating to me that it will not pass is you a basically the only person pushing it on the board. That's almost unheard of with a TA. Just 1 person arguing in favor of it.

Yeah because he was called a sucker and a company plant....not many people want to deal with that. It happens all the time....something goes to a vote and passes and you can’t find a single Yes. I think it’ll be close, not expecting a landslide either way.
