I'd rather have the candy!

You guys see the ontime performance for the month? Abysmal. I think it's gotten worse. Maybe it's time to start pushing 20 minutes early to make up for the severely underblocked flights.

We could start loading the jet bridge BEFORE the previous flight arrives. Then it could be a battle royale between the cleaners, departing pax, and arriving pax.

The operational numbers look terrible. I know that people from many departments are busting their humps trying to make this work. They might need to revisit these processes and soon. We are driving backwards it seems.

Let's just leave empty that will save time.

So just out of curiosity , has anybody ever crunched the numbers or know how much JB is saving by not letting us drop the brake when the door closes ?

Hard to quantify, but I'd bet it isn't all that much.

Why does everyone have such a hard on to drop the brake early and give them an on-time when they don't deserve it???

The cost isn't in pilot pay, since many trips are rigged anyway. The cost is in maintenance due to Mx intervals being based on block time. The number I heard thrown about was $7,000,000 per minute of block, annually.

It's not so much about on-time as it is getting on the clock. Frankly, when we put in our fit for duty, that should generate the time stamp for flight pay. Most of our work is done at the gate, and it's done for free.
