Sorry if this has recently been asked before, but I'm assuming BOS and JFK are junior. Would I be able to hold JFK out of training? And if so, how long could I expect to be on RSV?

Thanks.

You'd most likely be able to hold it right off the bat if not in a few months after training. Either plane. Reserve is different for both but I believe around the 1 year mark.

So if the van that the company schedules, and I'm not allowed to change, gets me to the airport 45 minutes before my show time, when does my duty time begin?

Pretty sure everything duty related is based off your scheduled show time, regardless of your actual show time.

I think you are correct, BUT you must have at least 8 hours sleep opportunity at the hotel. Vans cannot cut into that.

Please tell me your NC is working on improved hotel accommodation language. Stuck at an airport location for more than 12+ is ridiculously painful.

Agreed. Try 30+ hours near the airport as we do in certain markets. It's pretty embarrassing given some regionals have had better hotel rules for a decade or more. Hotel quality and location must improve by a LOT.

I have noticed that recently with the van times. I'm not leaving 45 mins before show time when we are 5 mins from the terminal.

WRONG. The company doesn't set your duty day limits, the FAA does. This is why you shouldn't "show up early to help our on time" like some chief pilots have requested. Your duty starts when you show. If the company van gets you there 30 min early you run out of duty 30 earlier. If it looks like it will be an issue call crew scheduling to update your show time. If they refuse don't break an FAR, call out fatigued and file an asap.
