Going forward it’s basically a Northeast shuttle aircraft to satisfy contractual obligations under the NEA and to fulfill slot obligations in JFK.

Hawaii is pretty much a done deal. Likely scenario is initially out of LAX and then SFO. Would be done with regular NEOs not LRs or XLRs.

More flying to return to FLL and a little more to MCO. When we decided to make the summer cuts, those were the only two places we could do it. JFK is slot restricted; expecting BOS to be soon. Management really wants to grow LAX so that was off the table especially in lieu of future Hawaiian plans.

Airbus has approached us about the 330s. Preliminary discussions but nothing serious. At best that would be 5-10 years down the road.

All Spirit hubs are in the running to continue with JetBlue except Atlantic City and probably Las Vegas. Three strongest non JB contenders are Chicago, either DFW or IAH, and ATL.
When is flying returning to FLL?

Nobody is arguing against what you just said.

The important thing is management seems to have spread this info in training to slow attrition and give future "hope". That was the spirit of the previous posts, and why it's getting a giant eye roll from some of us.

So, should Airbus approaching JB (LMAO) about buying A330s "someday" make the guys who are leaving right now think twice???

We are in total agreement. 13 years ago at Indoc they said they were getting 777’s really soon to go to Tel Aviv. 😂

It’s the gift that keeps on giving

“Widebodies are 5 years out” has been the word for what, like 15 years? There are models of A330s (and other planes) in various mgmt offices. Of course manufacturers discuss airplanes with airlines and would love to sell B6 some. I’m not saying B6 won’t get widebodies…but I certainly wouldn’t put any stock into the propaganda machine at JBU, nor would I ever come to jetblue with expectations of flying widebodies. B6 pilots ratified an LOA (17) that allows AA to fly B6 pax on AA widebodies from JFK/BOS, and for B6 to pull revenue from said agreement (which the CBA otherwise prohibits)….so long as that’s in place I don’t think B6 will order widebodies. Oh and the best part about that arrangement is B6 can’t fly AA pax transatlantic as part of their NEA strategy to appease the DOJ to appear to compete on those routes, but it’s fine for B6 pax to go on AA. If the DOJ kills the NEA (or some parts of it), I think chances of WBs increases. No reason to spend that kind of money on WBs if they can still pull revenue from AA widebody flying though.

Whatever was said at this airline 13 whatever years ago has zero to do with today. This airline is now flying to Europe and just purchased another airline to become a national brand. It’s not 2008 anymore. Having said that, WB rumors expected to slow attrition is laughable. What will slow attrition is a big raise in the near term (contract extension) and a JCBA that will be on par with Delta/United. Keeping all the Spirit bases open will also help.

With airport congestion and slot restrictions into places like London, heavies will make more and more sense.
