Essentially. We all know it’s not that different anywhere. I’m hopeful this MEC has more cojones than B6; to be determined. On the 7ER (DL speak for 757/767-300) I bid 83% and haven’t even completed OE yet, so movement is great. Hopeful for a quicker upgrade than B6 (excluding 190), and EWR trips. After we get a TA (three months to three years from now), I’ll have a better feel for my decision. No looking back, though.

What’s the initial pass rate at Big D? Is it like JetBlue, where the only way to fail your check ride is not show up?

Or are they hiring like mad and just relying on training rather than the interview to sort the capable pilots from the rest?

99%+.
They bend over backwards to get people through (probably to a fault). I found JB training to be overall more enjoyable, however. That said, I think it’s fleet dependent at DL.

Interesting and thanks for the insight potato chip, I just jumpseated on a delta 737 and those guys were remarking on how often they get reassigned without pay. They said approximately 30 percent of their trips this happens. It was just a perspective I hadn’t seen. Oh and they don’t get fed much food lol.

They also can do 5 legs per day on their AB and 73.

Oh don't kid yourself. Thats coming here soon. They are boiling the frog here, every year it gets just a little worse. After everyone gets used to day sleeps, redeyes in the middle of pairings, and in base layovers, there are only so many places left to extract "value" from us.

Unless 25.A.10.a is removed it won’t, at least for the 320, but your point is well taken. It just goes to show when the group is sold on “industry leading pairing construction” it is everyones’ duty to actually READ THE DAMN TA and don’t take the NC’s word on anything, question everything. In base layovers we’re made possible because it wasn’t specifically precluded contractually, we let it happen. Our pairings are only as good as our previous negotiating committee.
