I’m pretty sure it’s the opposite of that.

I think it means they are determined and aggressive.

Yes it is either total desperation or aggressive confidence. They sure are putting the money down.

Nothing about this is rocket science. The CEO has stated all the reasons publicly.
We need pilots, we need access to an established order book, we need midwest expansion, we need airframes to fill out bos/ewr/fll/lax faster than the organic plan (due to lack of pilots and airframe slots). Spirit is at a significant discount right now, which is what jetblue is exploiting. If you could get all that at a %30-40 discount, why wouldn’t you. This is literally business 101.

No, apparently it’s some devious emotionally distressing rape for some of these NK/F9 guys 😂

But…but…JetBlue was only supposed to ask nicely and walk away when Spirit said no without any further challenge.

I don’t see how this gives them pilots.
We are struggling with attrition (publicly stated). Spirit is struggling with attrition (publicly stated).
How would a combined airline suddenly not be?

JetBlue will get rid of Spirits' "style" of flying. They'll get rid of a TPA-MEM and MEM-LIT ( no idea if these are actual routes, but you get the idea), and add a 10th JFK-STI...pilot savings!!!

In three years the new JetBlue will fly TPA-MEM once again...after more pilots come through the Gateway or United FO's leave for us when we get an industry leading contract

If you listened to our CEO, he’s personally spoken with the pilots, and they loooooove Spirit! Plus, added bases, a larger more secure airline with synergies…. That’ll fix attrition!

I mean I guess it gives them a larger pool of underpaid GO employees to sucker into Gateway programs.
