When you update your info I’d delete your home phone and put your commuting city somewhere like DBX or BDA. phone stops ringing fast.

I don’t take the calls nor do I wake up. It’s amusing to see how many come in during the night. 2 for me last night. -7 BOS CA E190 RSV and 12 open trips. Not good. But hey, there’s no staffing problem.

I suspect their is a formula that calculates the cost of hiring versus the cost of RSAs, and I bet that using RSAs is cheaper in the long run than many on the line think. They definitely went overboard a few months ago, but in May it seemed to be pretty reasonable.

They do seem to be getting a handle on the utilization. There have been a lot fewer RSA emails for the last 2 months. I honestly don't think it's as much a staffing problem as a utilization problem. Even if we had extra E190 CA in every base, the weekends will always be red because people drop/swap trips until the reserve grid goes black. The alternative is that they start beefing up the required reserves, but that would suck for everyone.

No RSA? Have you checked your email in the last 24 hours? They’ve put out help in all bases and just about all seats. They’ve doubled down on some BOS 190 CA with 2 day RSA offered twice. That means guys are helping and they ask for more. Not to mention that they’re calling for volunteers.
It’s definitely cheaper and we cheat ourselves by taking the free money. It’s not free. Imagine having a holiday off because they had to increase staffing due to a lack of cheap labor. But no. We’ll cry when the system bid is released. Then pick up the phone to help out.
