You should really take that up with the union or CP who knows what type of records they keep on this. I had a problem with an agent who also said I was threatening him (yeah right) I talked to the union and and they along with the CP worked on it and it was all cleared up. You will find some of these agents have a history of stuff like that.

That being said everyone involved was receptive to the issue, his supervisor, CPO, and union. I trust it was followed up on that day and we've all moved on

So instead of blocking flights properly, and not scheduling 35 minute turns, they not make flights depart really early to get a head start? Man the cost savings ideas are getting weirder and weirder.
I love how nobody ever brings up the well being of the crews in the on time calculations. We're just supposed to not eat right? Or run and get food for 4 or 5 people at a time? Never even heard of such a thing at the regionals.

I witness this problem myself when I see gate agents closing flights early, a lot of times as much as 20-25 mins before scheduled departure.
I wonder what if a jumpseater would show up at the last minute..
But then a lot of pilots would equally share the blame who would like to push early on go home day....
We all, collectively, need to make sure that we are NOT leaving one of us or our families behind. And we need to do it every time.

I think it was said before but bears repeating. At least one pilot should ALWAYS take a little walk up to the gate area to see if anyone is trying to get on. If you're traveling in civvies, make yourself known so we can keep an eye out for you. I've flown with one captain who was willing to leave people behind but other than that person, none have put getting home early over helping out a fellow crew member.

She did not say anything to me but it was clear what she was thinking as she looked at the paper in her hand. I just walked up to the gate area. We left 7 minutes early. All was good, and maybe this walk should be on one of our "not so approved flows"

I stepped off the airplane just under 20 minutes prior the other day. The agents eyes almost popped out of her head. She did not say anything to me but it was clear what she was thinking as she looked at the paper in her hand. I just walked up to the gate area. We left 7 minutes early. All was good, and maybe this walk should be on one of our "not so approved flows"

I can't believe it isn't standard practice to make the walk up to the podium prior to departure. At UAL, an agent would never try to close 20 early and leave non-revs like that(well, not more than once). I'd love to see one try to refuse a jumpseater at 20 prior. Captain determines when the door closes and when we push. Agents have to walk into the cockpit and ask before closing the main cabin door.
