So, doesn't ETOPS require two mechanics for inspections? This tells me that the crazy random charters will stay in the 747 domain, the 777 and 767's will be flying hub to hub. Something to consider if true.

You mean 2 mechanics on the road with the aircraft?

For our operation "an" ETOPS mechanic signs of the 4 hr pre D ck...some items like oil filler caps require 2 sets of eyes..but that can be a mechanic and a crewmember. Other more extensive cks also require an ETOPS mechanic. I had to make a tech stop without a maint issue in which case I was allowed to sign off the pre D. I am not sure if this is standard at all airlines but it's allowable and in our manual for this type of situation at our company.

Bingo. I believe we have a winner....That makes perfect sense.

ETOPS is granted on Airframe and Engine combinations so there's no tether for one type to another. You will have to demonstrate compliance for dispatch, maintenance, and flight operations on all. Take it for an operator that has several different engine types (GE/PW) on -300's and -200's. You also have to demonstrate compliance in areas. North Atlantic does not automatically give you Northern Pacific and Central Pacific. The FAA will ride with you all the time.......

You are ASA? Congratulations and don't hesitate to ask any pilot in building 2 any questions you may have. Everyone wants to be helpful.

Resume was moved to the second round on 9/12 ... haven't heard anything since. Should I still wait for a call or is it like a TBNT ?
I am former ASA.
Just starting to worry since I haven't heard anything back.
