"(10)Employees shall not engage in outside employment or activities, including seeking or negotiating for employment, that conflict with official Government duties and responsibilities."
I don't think that applies.
I did read through "Appendix E. Outside Aviation Employment Policy"
fairly thoroughly and I didn't see anything in there applying to airline recall rights/
I word searched about every combination that I could think of that would include airline recall rights and didn't come up with any matches.

This is the closest I came (for the amount of reading I was able to do!)

From a retention standpoint, there is incentive for the FAA and the tax payer to require divestiture of any seniority at a carrier. Airlines after 9/11 required officially resigning seniority from their previous carrier. But unless it’s a direct or has the “appearance” Of being a conflict of interest, I’d be curious what the official interpretation is.
Thanks all for chiming in. In all cases, honesty is the best policy and I wouldn’t go against what I was officially told to do by anyone at the association.

For a primer on AEG, refer to the following docs:
-FAA Order 8110.4C, FAA Order 8900.1, Volume 8, Chapter 2 and AC 120-53B
It helps to have FSDO or CMO time prior to AEG because you will need experience with
Airman Certification (giving ATP/ type rating rides) and also strong knowledge of MMELs.
It also helps to have prior experience as an APM or AAPM.

You in AEG? I’m VERY interested but hear the travel is killer.

You have to do the financial disclosure every year as well.

Hola,
Not in AEG but I frequently work with them. You are correct, lots of travel. A typical Cert project can involve
multiple Long trips, some are on the road for weeks in a row for an FSB. That, plus quarterly sim currency on 2 jets, participating in working groups, etc. Exciting work for the right person, gets to have “hands on” the newest flying machines.

Agreed. Works seems great but buddy did it and 30 day stints on the road isn’t for me at this point in life.

Airline recall rights, like actual employment, are viewed as a prohibited financial interest under the ethics rules and must be divested. HR will notify the new inspector before or around the time of EOD. It is up to that new inspector to decide if they will comply. Some do, some don't.
